Server Merge Additional Questions

  • Will you lobby for 1 account per server?

    I constantly do.

    One fine day I'll win. It wasn't this fine day, though.

    There are a few things I can't decide on my own, this was unfortunately one of them and I was, once again, overruled.

  • The new settings posted on Discord sound more promising than the initial ones.

    I'll post them here, for people that are not on Discord:


    Smaller communities with 2 target servers will be able choose between these 2 target settings.

    Setting 1

    • Production of Wood and Marble will be 35% higher than normal.
    • Trade Ships are 25% faster than normal.


    Setting 2

    • Production of Wood and Sulfur will be 50% higher than normal.
    • Production of Wine is 10% higher than normal.
    • Troops and ships are built 25% faster.
    • Land units are 25% cheaper to build.
    • Land units move 50% faster than normal.
    • Priest conversion rate increased by 40% (7 conversions per priest instead of the normal 5).



    Bigger communities with 4 target servers will be able choose between these 4 target settings.

    Setting 1
    Servers like they used to be back in the
    "good old days". No bonuses. Just plain old default values.

    Setting 2

    • Production of Wood and Marble will be 35% higher than normal.
    • Trade Ships are 25% faster than normal.


    Setting 3

    • Production of Wood and Crystal will be 35% higher than normal.
    • Scientists create 25% more research points.


    Setting 4

    • Production of Wood and Sulfur will be 50% higher than normal.
    • Production of Wine is 10% higher than normal.
    • Troops and ships are built 25% faster.
    • Land units are 25% cheaper to build.
    • Land units move 50% faster than normal.
    • Priest conversion rate increased by 40% (7 conversions per priest instead of the normal 5).

  • To me it would make more sense for setting 2 to have more wood production than setting 4.

    And a little profit on research would always be welcome in 2, (and that it would be increased in 3).

    There is exactly ONE reason for that setting to even exist in that list: a good amount of people actually kept asking for a vanilla server with no settings whatsoever. It's not because I wanted to be funny. It was actually asked for. A lot.

  • Server 2 and 3 are very weak compared to 4.

    Is there any total bonus limit that can be applied? Or is the decision totally "free"?


    I would like something like that: Ikariam is slow and bonuses are something that can solve this.


    The more and more generous the bonuses are, I think they will be better.

    Server to grow

    +50% wood and 50% marble

    +50% merchant movement

    +25% of researchers

    +25% time to create troops and fleets


    Server to investigate

    +50% glass + 25% wine + 25% wood +25% merchant movement

    +75% researchers

    +25% time to create fleets and troops

  • I quite like the change. especially the inclusion about priest conversion rate increase.


    Also "vanilla" server is quite nice - although here i would prefer for it to be the original "alpha" server with old map, and not brand new one.


    Maybe change trade ship speed bonus in option 2 to reduced building time and add +25% trade ship speed to option 3 (at least in my opinion this seems to be more balanced)

    What's wrong with people?? Is it hard to understand you can have a only 1+10 account per server...


    1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11....


    I know what you guys want to hear... you want to hear some admin gonna say ;

    "yes dear multi users you can have up to 11 x 11 = 121 accounts per server..."


    BUT NOOOO...


    There is no such case...

  • im on US so no vanilla server of us.. although honestly having been on Delta, then Beta my whole life "I" am personally okay with that and are looking forward to having some bonuses for a change.


    Setting 2 is STACKED with bonuses.. I think it's pretty clear for the 2 server communities where builders and fighters should go.


    This is going to be a difficult choice though.. because Server 2 has a buffet of bonuses, I esp like that priest conversion.

    I never really considered my self a builder or a fighter but somewhere in the middle.


    but server 1 is still calling to me. esp since having ate sulfur forge all my life the idea of having a marble forge is so enticing.. I was gonna drop sulfur and wine and go for straight marble/crystal setup, trade and pillage for sulfur and wine needs.

    I did notice building time has been removed from both options though which I kinda liked.



    I dunno, Gonna be a tough call.. guess I'll have to wait to see what the alliance votes for.. we had already gotten well into voting and it was a blow out for server 1 last time, this time.. think it's gonna be a lot closer of a vote.

    I'm one of those people who supports server merging


    Simply put

    Isn’t it because you don’t want to lose the resources left by the account that has been occupied and disappeared?


    No need to speak as if you were wronged

    A player can have up to 11 game accounts in the same server.

    Is this difficult to understand?

  • 10+1 accounts were made during the merger in 2012. When all servers were turning into 10 servers. The multiple account formula was found upon the objection of players who had accounts on each server. It was wrong. They did not take into consideration our objections that this would not be a solution, that those who had 10+1 accounts on each server would object in future merges, and that we should continue with 1 account. Again, the Alpha server did not participate in the merger in that merge. At that time, Alpha players objected for days saying why we were not merging. Today, Alpha players objected why we were merging. The management that found the 10+1 formula that day, with the concession given that day, says today that more than 10+1 accounts are prohibited. I think both sides are suffering from the mistakes of the past today.

  • Like others who have posted, I think it's unfair in a browser game to require someone to own a cell phone to contribute to a discussion.


    But as we have this thread, I'll just add my comments here in the hope that they will be counted.


    First, I appreciate that both the 2-setting and 4-setting options have a pillager-friendly option.


    Second, I think settings 2 and 3 "feel" far weaker than several of the options we were previously offered.


    But I think having a research strong choice (#3) is interesting. Though I think it need some buffing up to bring it more on par with the other choices.


    But my biggest concern is that the bonus to build buildings has been removed from all options.


    I would prefer the old setting #1 for the 2-world setting #1 -

    Not bad, but I feel like setting two should be 50% wood/marble 10% wine to be comparable to setting four. Also, setting four should also have a trade ship speed increase.


    Setting three should be 50% wood/crystal and 75% more research.


    It's unfortunate that none of them have a build speed increase, too.

  • Also, I'm hearing from people that they are - let's say "uncomfortable" with the .us merges starting on September 11.


    I understand that there's no way that you all are going to look at any date and see what events might have happened on that day, but, I think you probably understand people being uncomfortable about September 11 as a date.
