Yes this is indeed very scummy behavior. They should bring back no VPN rule again and enforce it only in such obvious scenarios. I am pretty sure that there is known list of most used VPN proxy IPs they could monitor.
For people who normally play with VPN, they should overlook them, look the other way and not punish them. but for such cases they should ban them outright. same goes for general banks and other scoundrels.
The merge started yesterday for the greek servers.I have a question,while we upgrade the mines,how can we complete the daily tasks for the shrine to be max ? It's very difficult especially on a fresh start.Should the tasks be easier?
The production levels required for the Daily Task key off the Town Hall level in your capital. Just upgrade he mines as quickly as possible.
I wonder how many of us would have swapped out our capital (early in the game) and made it a lvl 4 TH in our capital for this reason, if we knew this was going to happen...lol.
But with smaller level of town hall even the rewards are smaller (at least the resource ones, that provide the best value)
If you only use +20% boost for a day sure, but in most scenarios you are better off buying resources outright.
I suggest you run plutus for the first week or 2 of the merge. You will have a lot of idle citizens and not many workers in mines. i would pop even terrible tax advisor if you still have it in inventory. if you want you can even drop the scientists and priests to 0 for that extra gold.
I have just shy of 6m points and am currently making 200k+ gold an hour. so in a week i would get extra 35 million gold.
And the tasks are based on the level of your town hall in the capital i think, not on your mine levels. so unfortunately you are stuck with that until you can get your mines back to their full potential. (unless you want to spend ambrosia)
This resource reducers, i got in all the 4 cities carpentry at 10 and marble workshop at 10, is that a ok level to start investing on other things? this shrine thing i had no idea.
Boost the reducers to 50 as a priority.
Eventually... If you have only 6.000 points in total you should invest in other things too. 5th city is more important than upgrading reducers from 33 to 34.
But yes, you should get those reducers up, but within reason, no need to rush them at all cost and not do anything else.
Go for the shrine as soon as possible. it provides huge bonuses to 1 resource per town.
As for your next city resource i too would go for crystal, you need it for research and for shrine.
As for military... at beginning don't even bother with it, if somebody attacks you with 100x more points you will loose every time.
As for other tips: build all 5 reducers if you have free spaces. in the long run it saves you a lot of resources. especially you should have Architect's Office and carpenter in every single town later on add wine press too.
As for the rest it is up to you what you want to focus on. are you more of a builder, researcher, fighter, alliance ambassador...
And try not to antagonize larger players. get some friends and allies...
Agreed, but keep it only for the duration of the merge, since after that it could be abused. for example: if you have 2.000.000 wood in town and somebody is attacking you. you could donate all 2.000.000 wood before the attacker gets to you and he will get nothing.
I know it is very niche case, since in most scenarios you could easily dump 2.000.000 wood in mines without them upgrading.
It would also benefit a lot the people who came from graveyard and decide to donate all their resources into mines

I will explain it that way:
I used to have lv 35 mine and collect marble from it, for an example, now I have lv 15 mine after several days of leveling.
The lv 35 mine produces MORE Marble than a lv 15 one.
And while I do gain some gold, I wanted to dig out that marble, in the next 10 days that mine won't reach it's original level, what's worse, it will be even lower because players who used to level it up are not on the same island or were long ago deleted....
So yeah, do I have exactly what I had on time? Or will it be delayed until I level it back to lv35?
If i am not mistaken we got 2 60 days boosts for each resource in our inventory, so that is 4 months of +20% production.
We make more gold while the resource production is not fully operational.
3 out of 4 servers have various bonuses to resource production - Most likely higher bonuses than previous servers we moved from.
You got free town warps for each of your colonies (if you were smart you have built 1/2 extra colonies day before the merge and got extra free wraps to use later)
Now you could choose what teammates to have on your islands (as long as you do not get some Asian rapscallions despoilers from east to block island spots all across the map for no reason)
Taking all this into account i believe that we should get our "lost" resources back eventually.

When you choose a server you will be transfered to your chosen server in next couple of minutes/ hours. you can do that for next 9 days (in BG servers) or untill the time limit set on your sepcific national server.
If you do not choose the server until then you will be assigned a random server (you cannot stay on the same server as you are on).
If you choose a server today and start the transfer progress you will be able to play on that choosen server even after 23 september.
I am not sure what happens if you are innactive on new server when end of the marge happens. in the wore case scenario you will be sent to graveyard server.

Back on topic; How does popularity fare on the different servers, which is most populair overall and which least? In EN the server 2 (with marble and wood bonus) is by far the most populair. The server 1 without any bonusses is the least populair. Is this what we see also in other countries?
On BG servers option 4 is most popular with 6000 free spots remaining, option 2 is second most popular with 6700 free spots, option 3 is next with 7100 free spots and by far least popular is option 1 with 8000+ spots remaining. not sure how it is on other national servers, but i would guess something similar.
Builders will go to option 2. fighters and builders who use premium trader will go to option 4, option 3 is for "smaller" players who want to research all futures, and option 1 is for staunch traditionalists and people who want to play on less crowded servers.

I figured out that it was because of piracy. and i think this is morally wrong, albeit it is not in breech of game rules.
If you have any suggestion how to deal with that situation, please go on and say it. Otherwise stop writing frivolous complains, defaming both me, forum moderators and anyone with even common sense.
For all of you who say: "it doesn't matter what nationality he is, why did you bring it up?" Maybe it does not matter what nationality somebody is on your servers, where one nation is the clear majority, but on multinational servers there is quite a strong unspoken agreement, that you do not attack people of your nationality. especially since no nation has a clear majority of players and you need to stick together (each nationality represents 15% - 25%). so bulgarians don't attack bulgarians, slovenians don't attack slovenians, serbs don't attack serbs, turks don't attack turks and slovaks don't attack slovaks.
And refering to people based on their nationality is in such scenarios common, and even the norm. it is a simple way to give that primal us vs them mentality.
For all of you wandering it is not open season with all nations in constant war with one another. People still cooperate with each other, trade, sign agreements...
But there is a growing animosity towards turkish community, why? Because of the actions of 1 player. Should 1 person actions really have a negative perception on whole nation - NO. But the fact is that in the server this is the opinion of many players

As is using multies to leech faith, gang up on 1 account with 10 of your own... we can all agree that those things, although legal and in accordance of the rules are scummy and in the breech of normal decency.

First of all there are some misconceptions i would like to address:
1. I never compared all turks to any kind of animal. so all your overreacting and crying racism are just hypersensitive and stirring up needless drama.
2. I only called the behavior of setting up multi accounts to block up island spots, with sole purpose to delete town and move your raiding colony as scummy and "cockroach like" - which it is. it might be OK according to the letter of the law, but we can all agree that it is scummy behavior.
3. I play in BG server. a server which has been merged with many other communities - slovenian, serbian, slovak, bosnian and yes, even turkish.
4. The player that has been doing this is a turk. he has a turkish flag next to his account, speaks turkish and is in a turkish alliance. therefore i believe that the term i used (aka. the turk) is appropriate given the described situation.
5. Yes, i like history and often use those easter eggs in my posts (saracen, Ishmaelite...)
6. My personal opinions about the turks are not the matter of this discussion and i never mentioned them in this discussion (we could talk about them, but not here, as this is not the place). if you want to learn more ask the zaporozhian cossacks.
7. I strongly believe that the origin of my question belonged in this topic (server merge additional questions) as i was asking for advice, why people might be setting up brand new colonies on random islands across the map in the first 15 minutes of the merge. I later got the answer that it was because of the pirates.
8. For all of you who are wondering what will happen on my server regarding the annoying turkish player who is attacking everybody with pirates. The whole server is annoyed with him and his turkish alliance, so a few other biggest alliances on the server are already discussing a "war" against him and members of his alliance.
9. Here is another topic i think we should discuss: the turkish players can buy ambrosia at a lower cost than the rest of us, since their currency the lira in, lets say it kindly, an unstable hyperinflating third world currency. From what i understand turks can buy ambrosia at a fraction of the cost when compared to the cost in euros. (if i am wrong please correct me)
10. The person doing such scummy tactics is throwing a bad light on entire community, especially on multi national servers. so if you want to be angry at anyone for defaming turkey, you should be angry at him.

Somehow I don't think the conversation would be much different here if he had a town he left there and only built a pirate fort to raid you and then destroyed it leaving the town.

1 could be they intended to move there and you guys moved in at the same time, this happen to me in the 2015? merger.. the first merger.
1 of my towns got left off the island as I was moving it as someone else was and back then the warps expired after a little bit so you used them or lost them.So waiting for a spot wasn't an option.
they could be there to have a foot hold to pillage you in the future.
they could be there to destroy your faith you won't know this untill the towns are built up if they're new
pirates will often use colonies to avoid long pirate raid times, they'll setup shop, build a pirate fort, raid and leave
lots of possibilities, hopefully they're not there for the island faith because that is the worse possible outcome on this, at least if they're aggressive you can group up and fight htem off but island faith, nope.. ain'nt nothing you can do about it except pull their slack or if it's bad enough accept it and drop your priests.
of course there is always the move option but town warps don't grow on tree's so that can be an expensive option and that might be what they're hoping for.
if they want that island for them selves they could build up the towns wreck your faith and finally you give up and move and then they can move in fully.\

They are there only for pirates. there is one turk who is the main account and goes for pirates. but he has multies that he uses to block out island spots (1 account on 3 of our islands). then he deletes that colony and moves his raiding colony there, attacks everybody, leaves and places his multi colony back on.
In my case even if he was there to ruin faith, he would have little effect. it is 1 town and we have at least 8+ towns with temples. it would be inconvenient and annoying for sure, but we would "only" need to buff up priests to 110% or so.
We agreed that we would not go for pirates at all, so we hope that he would leave.
Again it is not about pirates, but the fact that some of my alliance mates cannot place their colony, since the ishmaelite is still there. at least he could set up raiding colony on one of adjacent islands and not the main ones if he wants to have a spot.
It's not really strange behavior. For all we know, he could be blocking for another account to join and waiting to see what happens.
In your situation, I would've hoped someone would've made a multi just to block, then you could pick an island, block, unblock and let you warp, etc.
I hope you picked the no bonus server because all of the other servers are so crowded that good luck getting empty islands anywhere.
