1796 total points and top donater on perseus server. 41 billion. How does someone with 1796 points become the top donator on the server?
You would think a GO would have spotted this "discrepancy"

Your numbers don't add up. 41 mio donation points are 4.1 billion wood, not 41bn. 1.000 wood for 1 ambrosia is only on low mine levels. High luxury levels you get 30.000 wood for 1 ambrosia. Not sure what ambrosia prices in $$ are, but in € you can get a max of 8.700 ambrosia for 200 €.
Therefore is should look like this: 4.124.643.200/30.000 = 137.488 ambrosia which would cost about 3.160 € still a "Who the hell spends that much on a game" amount, but there ARE people with that much spending money.

There was a facebook game that I personally knew of a player that had to have dropped about $250K on. The funny thing is, they eventually shut that game down after blizzard bought them out.

Sounds like when Activision bought King.

The Pangaia servers use the EN subdomain so I will presume all of those servers will be merged too under the EN umbrella?
All Global servers (Pangaia and Ares Global) as well as the Test servers are hosted under the EN sub-domain - But are not merged under normal server mergers - Pangaia servers may have a merger in the future, if they do then yes they will merge into a Pangaia server (mor than likely a new one when the time comes - The same with the Ares Global, they would merge into another Ares Global whenever the time comes for them to be merged, but I do not see this for another year or more from now
