Server Merge Additional Questions

  • I agree and in the beginning they only sold things that made playing the game easier, but the bar has definitely slid towards more of a cash grab over the years. I'm not saying it's a bad deal for F2P, but there are a lot more P2W options than there used to be.


    Personally, I'm indifferent towards it.

  • I hate merging.

    Time after time, the same story, stop - merge us ALL into ONE server once and for all, NEVER open ever again a new server and let us be at peace there/

    The stress this merging causes makes people quit forever, time had proved it, not just my words - statistics.

  • It's not just the merge stress. People on boring, sleepy servers all of a sudden are in a really active server. Not everyone enjoys being on a really active server.


    Also, the 4 servers they gave us really aren't great. There's 1 builder, 3 fighter servers. All the builders are going to try to dog pile into the first option because there's no build time redux in any of the other options.


    The last merge I went through, that's when I lost most of my friends. We went from a quiet, sleepy part of the server to a really noisy server.


    It also doesn't help that for EN, they're condensing 14 servers into 4 and at least Alpha and Zephyros are really full.

  • There is 1 EPIC fight server and 3 smaller ones.

    Since everybody will want to go with setting one, I assure you it will be more bloody than any war server.

    On paper it sounds like a farmer sever, in reality it holds the most valuable resources - wood and marble! Pillaging there will be way more often than options 2,3,4. and ships will actually bring back res this time. Cost of troops is doubled? Big deal, with 25% more wood you can up the sulfur mine and compensate the cost. Or sell some marble and compensate the cost. Or just build one or two more towns on sulfur and compensate the costs.

    If GF actually thought about it, they'd offer 4 EQUAL servers and let players populate them, but they made only one and masked it as 4.

  • Yes, that's what I'm concerned with, too. It seems like setting 1 is clearly bait to try and get everyone to go there because it has the best options and the other 3 options aren't even remotely comparable.


    Even the two option settings seem like also bait because option 1 is much better than option 2.

  • Not to mention in FUTURE merges (i expect them) the option one server will be boosting new and old accounts as crazy cuz of the 25% wood/marble bonus.

    4 years on it with PAN blessing and you may see a sawmines lv 50-60, accounts with 50- 100mil master builder score and maxed Futures (25)

    4 years with such bonus are like 5 years.

    Meanwhile the other 3 severs....hahaha they will be eventually merged again with The One and be small beans compared to it. They would stand no chance eventually and be obliterated by a top alliance.

  • Does server-wide higher/lower costs to build troops/ships impact damage as reported in the battle report and attack points / defense points? I would expect it would, because the base-cost is different.

  • Will the new target servers have the same Wonders on the same islands as the old servers?

    So that maybe we can choose beforehand the exact coordinates we are going to move our cites (if we are fast enough that is).
