That's hard to read by a reason - to make a better protection against bots who try to read the code automatically.

Wrong. Actually they can recognize almost everything, the only question is just about the % of not recognized elements.

I spend a lot of money on this game. If the devs want my continued support they should look at improving the security code system to make the characters more distinct.
I'm tired of them being rejected over and over ...
I know why it is there. Perhaps a different system like recognising a picture. Cars, birds, traffic lights and so on. It's a far better system IMHO and bots can't recognise pics AFAIK. Just a suggestion. I can always leave the game.
Threats are usually not a strong argument to make a point, you choose to pay for certain premium options in the game.

I have magnifier pinned to my task bar + reading glasses and on screen keyboard to assist me. When the captcha is still difficult, hit enter until something more decipherable is displayed.

That still involves more keyboard usage and mouse usage. Carpal tunnel is real.

Actually on my side I can scroll even with the mouse or touchpad alone.

I just tried it. Only works in the game, not the Pirate Fortress window. I'm using Chrome.

Yes, ctrl plus scroll only work in game, in the pirate section it is not possible to zoom that way.

I guess my expectations are different to yours. I didn't expect it to be a given. It makes more sense to me to continue to grow your Crew Strength. The way it is now is the person that spends the most time playing and hitting that Capture button and solving a puzzle, wins.

They are not my expectations. These are the Game expectations. It's game rules, not mine!
In theory, it is what you said. In practice, wins the player who has the most bots used for piracy.
