Gods of Olympus

Dear players,

prepare for the wrath (and the love^^) of the gods!

Divine intervention is making its way to Ikariam. The "Gods of Olympus" update will soon be brought to the live servers, bringing a host of new things to do for players and bonuses to factor in your strategy.
Start researching "Mythology" to unlock powerful new gods such as Dionysus, Pan and Hephaestus and more. Each will bestow their own rewards upon your cities in the form of various bonuses.
But beware: if you fail to provide the proper tribute, their generosity and benevolence wanes quickly.

Construct a glorious Shrine of Olympus to provide a place of worship for these deities. Complete new daily tasks to earn their favour. The more favour you offer, the greater the gifts they will return to you!

More details, along with a release date, will be revealed soon. Keep an eye on the heavens, who knows, you might get a glimpse of their arrival?

on Thursday, 23.11.2023 the Gods of Olympus will finally make their appearance in Ikariam.

The update will be rolled out on all live servers on that day between 10:00 CET and 14:00 CET.

As always, an exact time for each server can not be provided, so during that time frame please expect interruptions in availability of your server.

The gods of Olympus look down benevolently on the realms of Ikariam. Honour the gods, expand your empire with their help and become the all-powerful emperor of the ancient world!

New Building: Shrine of Olympus

At the Gods’ Shrine you can worship various gods to gain their grace. Your city’s main deity influences which blessing will benefit your city – at least as long as the deity is happy with your efforts!

Six New Gods

From now on, you can pay homage to six new gods to gain their blessings and boost your economy. You can only pay homage to one god at a time and receive their production bonus for your city. However, you can change the deity as often as you like.

• Pan: Increases the production of wood.
• Dionysus: Increases the production of wine.
• Tyche: Increases the production of marble.
• Plutus: Increases the production of gold.
• Theia: Increases the production of crystal.
• Hephaestus: Increases the production of sulphur.

New Field of Research: Mythology

Unlock the new field of research ‘Mythology’ to gain access to all six new gods step by step. Each previous research needs to be completed before progressing to the next one.

• ‘The Seat of the Gods’ (requires Town Hall level 5): allows you to build a Gods’ Shrine.
• ‘Lord of the Forest’ (requires Gods’ Shrine level 1): unlocks the god Pan.
• ‘Party Time!’ (requires Gods’ Shrine level 2): unlocks the god Dionysus.
• ‘A Lucky Coincidence’ (requires Gods’ Shrine level 4): unlocks the goddess Tyche.
• ‘Riches From the Depths’ (requires Gods’ Shrine level 6): unlocks the god Plutus.
• ‘The Goddess’s Splendour’ (requires Gods’ Shrine level 8): unlocks the goddess Theia.
• ‘Forged in Lava’ (requires Gods’ Shrine level 10): unlocks the god Hephaestus.

Reworked Daily Tasks

The daily tasks were already reworked with the last update and divided into four new categories. Every day, there are 8 different daily tasks (2 from each category), which are always reset at 8 AM (server time). The rewards can be collected manually once the daily task has been completed.

Difficulty Ratings:

• Passive: 50 Favour
• Easy: 75 Favour
• Difficult: 100 Favour
• Bonus: 50 Favour for 2 daily bonus tasks / 100 Favour for all daily bonus tasks

You can gain a maximum of 2,500 Favour. Favour will not be reset.

Keep in mind, as said before, especially features such as daily tasks are never really "finished" though: new tasks can always be included in future updates.

tomorrow, 30.11.2023 between 10:00 and 16:00 we will be rolling out version 9.0.1.
This version will fix a few backend issues and a few display problems that came along with version 9.0.0.

Among other things:

• Fixed wrong information about Town Hall Level 5 requirement in the hel section for the Gods' shrine
• Fixed an issue where the Gods' Shrine construction time was not affected by the server speed settings
• Fixed several display issues in the Gods' Shrine building UI
• Fixed several backend issues
