Suggestion: Factions (Gods) Serverwide goals.

  • Suggestion, we have alliances and that's all well and good but with this new update of the gods temple.
    It got me thinking it might be cool if we had server wide factions, and each faction would represent a different god.

    There could be daily/weekly/monthly goals to be met that each faction would compete for.


    Like there could be competitions of which faction could build the most building levels or raise the most builders score, get the highest offense score, pillage the most goods, destroy the most boats, slay the most enemies, collect the most material, amass the most gold, raise the most research points.. or donate the most to the mines which might help out on those dead beat islands.

    The military objectives would only count when attacking another faction, which would add a new element to the battles, you would obviously want to target competing factions.


    And the winning faction would get bonuses based on those goals met.


    Example of bonuses

    *faster build time

    *faster unit construction

    *reduced resource cost

    *increased material collecting

    *faster ships

    *more happiness

    *research points

    *goods & gold

    *happiness bonus in towns

    *Increased army/naval unit performance.

    .. someone suggested 'titan" units.. which is kinda cool idea.. maybe each faction could have their own unit type.. perhaps this would be limited to a specific # per player like a super / hero unit
    and maybe if your faction is doing well one of the bonuses would be allowing more of these units to be built.. like example everyone on faction X can build 1 hero/titan unit.. but since the completed a goal now they can build 2 or 3 for x amount of time.. like say this was a reward for a daily task you'd have till the next daily task time period to build the 2 or 3rd unit

    If your faction did not complete the goal the max number would go back to 1.. but you'd still get to keep the ones you built you just couldn't replace them.


    It might even be cool if each factions titan also had it's own benefits on the battle field to add more depth to battles, we could get a rock,paper,scissors thing going.

    .. you get the idea.


    This would be separate from alliance so you could have your entire alliance focused on 1 side or it could be split as it would be up to the player to pick a faction to compete under.


    We might need to implement some rules on how people join a side though so everyone doesn't just go for a single team and nullify the whole point of it.


    Perhaps the factions would be balanced based on membership total score? like if one side has more than 10% of all the other sides no new players can join that faction?

    This would at least ensure a 2 faction 55/45 split worse case scenario, I would think at least 4 god/factions would be a good number to go with.

    In my openion there should be more focus on army / military: Unit types and power strength, than the rest, cause the development of that aspect is idle, while there is more focus on the rest.


    Ikariam focuses more on resources than wars (Which yeah, i get it. Its not a war game but attacking is fun also.)


    Ikariam focuses allready allot on resources like: Helios Tower, resource redcutions, resource increase buildings, resource increase items, helping hands, etc..


    But yeah, i agree to this.

    1. Estoy de acuerdo, hay que impulsar el tema militar. Lo de las facciones está muy bien, pero sin duda debe ser más atractivo para los guerreros, ya que actualmente sale más rentable jugar a las casitas que pelear. Actualmente la gruta del Hades es algo que beneficia a quien es atacado, pero ¿en qué beneficia a quien ataca?
    2. Las facciones mencionadas anteriormente pueden estar bien y cada facción tiene sus ventajas.

  • well if google translate was any where near accurate your worry is this would be about combat.. but actually there would be a mixture of goals some of htem would be who could build the most in a time period, collect the most resources, etc.


    Actually I'd say there is probably more possible goals for buliding then anything when you think about it.
