This is something best answered by badidol himself, but he answered it so many times before, I am not sure he appreciates me pinging him in this thread.

First of all, you can filter the threads by label.

Either you click on the label you want to filter by or you can fine tune it by clicking on the "Filter" button at the top of the thread list and selecting the labels from the menues, thus only being left with the region and server you are looking for.

    Regarding the why:

The old boards did not provide the security features neccessary for the needs of GameForge and as the decision to upgrade to a new one was rather short notice, there also was not enough time (and resources) to upgrade every single forum by hand, regardless of if it is a big forum like the LatAm communies or some small ones like Denmark or Norway with low to no activity.

So this big international board was created, leaving behind the "ballast" and memories of the old forums.

I obviously can't speak for all forums, but I know several that were way too big for their activity.

When I joined Ika US and took over Alpha server sections, I was overseeing a section with more subsections than people populating them. There was like one spam thread that could be considered active and one thread with a countdown of how many members a certain alliance had left.

    2 threads, 3 users, 4 subsections.

While I can understand anyone claiming that this may be too far towards the other extreme with everything being thrown into one big pot I will have a hard time arguing to the people in charge why we should create a subsection for a server that has less than 2 threads created for in the last 12 months.

Hiya, I have edited the title to be more in line with the rest of the US threads and to be easier distinguishable from the EN threads. :)

For US treaty threads, we also have a tried and trusted format for those lists, to make it easier to find users who are still looking for a treaty. For this, I'll just copy from my colleague Fesiely

New board, new way of posting the cts. We did start this on the Beta server on our previous board and it worked quite well. It also provides an easier overview of who is having cts and how much. No need to scroll through the whole topic anymore.

If you have cts available please do the following:

    1. you copy the previous post (don't quote)
    2. you add your information like this:

    nickname 1 ................. 01 cts ............... mm/dd/yyyy

If no more ct's are available please cross out your name.

I also suggest the use of the Consolas font, to make it look uniform. :D

So the list would start out like this:

    West1717 ................. 08 cts ............... 11/08/2020

    2016 ...................30 KGA .....19.03.2020

    mirki .................. 9 KGA .....19.03.2020

    Ivanhoe ................32 KGA .....21.03.2020

    Gandalf................. 8 KGA .... 23.05.2020

    Alina ................. 42 KGA .... 30.08.2020

    Pharao1 ............... 66 KGA .... 05.09.2020

    Tom_Baumeister ......... 3 KGA .... 19.09.2020

Die Formatierung gefixt und alles was älter ist als ein halbes Jahr mal entfernt :)

    Goldnuss...........17 KGA.......30.03.2020

    Dings..............35 KGA.......26.04.2020

    Zakull.............10 KGA.......18.05.2020

    Jackflash..........75 KGA.......24.05.2020

    Markus_Bln......... 6 KGA ..... 30.07.2020

    Buntspecht..........5 KGA...... 19.08.2020

    Barotschew..........8 KGA.......22.08.2020

    Gieven..............2 KGA.......02.09.2020

    ththth.............31 KGA.......08.09.2020

    Grisu...............1 KGA.......11.09.2020

Alles was älter ist als 6 Monate habe ich mal abgeknipst :)

Do you realize that many people have to use VPN due to also legal reasons? And even better, quite often it might happen without knowing it (e.g.: I have several network providers which assign IP addresses from Estonia. Lithuania, Russia and Sweden, each of the might be in a different price category).

How is that a legal necessity?

The internet is not equally free in all parts of the world - you can check online resources here (PDF).

During my year abroad in Central Asia one of the first things I purchased was a one year licence at VPN service because half the time I couldn't see the pictures on reddit when the government decided to block imgur again.

Social Media, Whats App, Telegram were also targeted often enough, especially in the time leading up to the elections.

Countries like China or Iran have even further reaching censoring and/or surveilance in place, making it sometimes impossible to even access the game.

Also, dynamic IPs are a thing, as is mobile data connections, where IP adresses may also change quickly and assigned to different users in a short time frame.

Though no GM, but I can say from my experience of tracking down forum multis:

Everyone and their grandma (literally) can install a VPN and run it, be it for some basic privacy concerns, to watch that show on Netflix that they have only in the US version or to access work/uni files and programs.

Banning just for the usage of a VPN connection would lead to some high collateral damage. A bit like trying to nuke a hurricane.
