    Are you 100% sure that you get all your donations back ? I have 14 milions in donations (and lvl 50 caves). I thought that if you went away, you would lose your donations. Because otherwise I could go and come back and double my quarries.


    I not quit. I am advised to have 100% colossus. Too bad this requires you to be online at the time you are attacked.


    Managing resources is impossible. Upgrades require +1M resources. But protected resources are only 76,900 (4 warehouses at 40).


    For the "communication with the player" issue: I prefer to avoid. We were friends in the past and I helped him in game and RL in every way possible. I argued with him in every way but to no avail. Now, for my sanity, that person is dead. Anyway, this discussion is not about my relationship with him, but about how to play without having all the resources looted.

    Even the idea of having a building that traps troops might discourage the attacker from looting. Having 10,000 Spearmen stuck in your enemy's city, with the associated upkeep cost, could be a bargaining chip in negotiations.

    I have been playing this game since 2008. I played actively at the highest level until a few years ago. Now, I simply can't. I still like this game and I love developing buildings, but real life allows me to play a maximum of a few hours a week.


    I play on my islands with my long-time friends without bothering anyone. We don't attack anyone, the temples are at 100% and donations are abundant. But, for some time now, there is a player near me who has decided that I must stop playing and attacks me day and night stealing all the resources I produce. Playing like this is not fun.


    Now, I wanted to discuss this problem with you and understand how to deal with it. And I'm not talking about the player in question because I ended up blocking him in game and on other messagging apps. I can't defend myself from looting with troops because I can't manage the battles. And the resources protected in the warehouses are negligible: 76 thousand protected out of 30 million capacity and an hourly production of 4 + 3 thousand.


    I would like this game to have the possibility to develop a passive defense, which includes (but is not limited to):

    (*) more protected resources, also with new dedicated buildings.

    (*) automatic mechanisms for protecting resources in case of attacks

    (*) buildings that act as looting inhibitors: traps that block troops or towers that destroy troops (the walls get pierced in 1 round without doing damage)

    (*) mechanisms to avoid being looted in general.


    I would like to know your opinion on this.

    So do we get an extra building spot or do we have to destroy one to build the workshop that we were told was not needed after all upgrades?

    I have the same buildings in all cities, +1 building that change.


    I had finished my research in 2016, yet I kept myself an academy because you never know.

    So I wasted my time comparing the levels I saw from the in-game help of my little account on the test server, for nothing. Sigh.

    Why they dropped town hall max level from 66 to 50 ? also...

    Piracy? I play Piracy (top 5) when rewards was times 11.

    Now, 38400 (res guarded al lvl 80) * 5 (warehouses) * 2,75 (1° pos) * 5 (res) = 2,64kk (1 town) which are equivalent to a production of 5 k/h (times 21 days).


    Pillage?

    Assuming 500 ships * 500 resources = 250k per travel.

    Assuming one travel per hour and one travel per town (you have 21 towns) = 250k res. per city per day = 10k/h. Let me say 15k/h.


    With 20 + 5 + 15 = 40k/h per city you will wait 2 years for just one level of one building.

    What am i forgetting? What am I doing wrong? Is this not a problem?

    I still can't think of quick ways ( in 1 year) to develop that order of magnitude of resources to grow well on this new ikariam.

    Since suggestions are being listened here (and now I find myself with a building slot I have no idea what to put in):

    • You could increase the number of slots in the islands (from 17 to ... ) ;
    • One could increase the number of citizens engaged in quarries;
    • One could reformulate the % of resources obtained from the forest ranger's house (from linear 2% at level to ... ( logarithmic scale ) ) and other buildings;
    • One could convert gold to wood and vice versa for free;
    • Another building could be made that makes helping hands more qualified;
    • Another building could be made that amplifies the conversion of resources (from 1:1 to 1:1.5 )

    And so on...

    Resta da capire come procurarsi le risorse dato che le cave non le hanno toccate.

    La produzione a +122% in soldoni significa (almeno per me) passare da +2700 risorse l'ora a +3700.

    Se prima il milione di risorse in una città lo facevi in 5/10 giorni e riuscivi a crescere bene, ora l'unità di misura sono i 100 milioni...

    E comunque il debugging si fa prima di rilasciare la versione, non dopo.


    Hanno portato gli edifici (che costruisci da solo) a costi più alti di quelli delle cave (che costruisci in 17 player). Forse si son dimenticati di bilanciare questo aspetto.

    Il problema, come dice il nostro signore, è che il grosso non legge gli annunci e non partecipa al forum, quindi intavolare una discussione sul forum non è produttivo.

    Secondo, IMHO volevano lanciare qualcosa di clamoroso, per far tornare a "far parlare di ika", e ci sono riusciti.

    Il contenuto dell'upgrade è secondario, lo decideranno in base a come reagisce il gioco (e non il forum) alle loro proposte.

    Non ricordo per quale edificio, ho visto qualche screen dai server in cui è stata rilasciata la 8.8.0, ma l'ultimo up sarà di oltre 22 anni ...

    Ma è così difficile pensare che un gioco per avere successo deve essere attraente, accattivante, coinvolgente, spronare ad impegnarsi per raggiungere obiettivi difficili ma fattibili? Soprattutto deve essere veloce!

    Per quel livello di 22 anni come upgrade, occorrono milioni e milioni di risorse per farlo, ma prima milioni e milioni di risorse per avere magazzini e discariche opportune e quindi i 22 anni diventano che ne sò, 44 di preparazione ...?

    Era la discarica e se hai letto le varie discussioni sapresti che ora come ora diventa un edificio inutile, dato che avrebbe una capienza bassissima. Inoltre, se la hai mai costruita sapresti che "si costruisce da sola" dato che in 21 anni del livello 79 hai tutto il tempo di accumulare quelle risorse.

    As an IT i can assume that an ikariam server (IS) run as a virtual machine (VM) on a physical machine (PM) with other VM.

    An IS with very low Active player (like actual old IS) doesn't Need so much PM resource consumption, so Is not so much expensive for GF to keep up IS alive.


    IMHO ikariam Will survive until there are some other GF game, or server, that are more profitable

    Le discariche sono rimaste a 32k a livello, i magazzini invece hanno un andamento diverso (polinomiale?) e arrivano a 500kk di capienza contro i 3kk della discarica, rendendola praticamente inutile.


    Inoltre, se la produzione di risorse rimane bassa e i magazzini hanno capacità enormi....loggo una volta al mese e converto una volta l'anno!

    Leggendo qua e là mi sono accorto che aumentano anche i livelli di carpenteria, da un attuale -46% a un -75%, e tagliaboschi, da +64% a +122%. Quindi si riducono i costi e aumenta la produzione, però i tempi di costruzione restano veramente biblici sigh
