War Server Merge - Info thread

Dear players,

we've all been waiting for it for a long time and it is now coming closer and closer: the Ares merge.
We will soon be posting news (we'll be replying to this thread) about the war server merge including a date and an FAQ answering questions about the procedure and informing you about everything you need to know.

War Server Merge

Rulers of antiquity, get ready as we merge the war servers! All the war servers will be merged between April 9th–23rd.

As a player on the servers, you’ll receive an item which you can use to relocate on your new server. At the start of the merge period, there’ll be a 7-day Festival of Worlds event with various bonuses for all players on the new server—the sooner you move, the longer you can benefit from the event!

FAQ
What will be merged?
We’re going to merge together multiple servers and communities. All of the servers and communities affected are listed in the table at the bottom.

What happens if I don’t log into the game during the migration period?
At the start of the server merge, all accounts will be placed in vacation mode. If you do not move by the end of the merges, you will be transferred automatically. Inactive accounts will be moved to Asphodel.

Can I still create new accounts on the old servers?
Yes, however this will only be possible for a limited time. Registration for new accounts ends on April 8th, 2024.

Can I move my towns to an island of my choice?
You receive the same number of Town Relocation items as the number of towns you own at the time of migrating.

I have more accounts than there are target servers. Can I have multiple accounts on the same server?
Yes, the rules for multis remain unchanged, and you can have up to 11 accounts.

What happens to the resources I have invested in island buildings such as Helios Towers, mines and miracles on my original server?
The resources will be refunded and placed in your inventory. For Helios Towers, you’ll receive an item in your inventory.

Can I redeem these resources any other way?
No, the resources will be given to you in two bundles which are tied to donations. They cannot be redeemed like ordinary resource bundles.

What happens to the troops/buildings/ships I currently have under construction?
Their status will be transferred to the target server and construction will continue as normal.

Do I have to use my Town Relocations immediately?
No, the Town Relocations do not expire.

Will I receive a premium relocation for a town on a premium slot?
Yes, you will.

What will happen to my capture points and crew?

The crew is transferred to the target server, capture points are lost during transfer.

What will happen to my alliance?
The alliance itself (not its members) will be transferred together with the leader. As player in an alliance, you will have to coordinate among yourselves. Once on the new server, members will have to rejoin the alliance.

What will happen to Cultural Goods Treaties?
These will disappear with the merge. However, it will be much easier to find new partners on the more populated servers following the merge. The *Festival of Worlds* event will also boost this initially with various bonuses.

What happens if multiple players/alliances with the same name move to the new server?
It is not possible for multiple players/alliances to share the same name. If a name is already in use on the server, then you will receive a new name and/or be requested to change your (alliance) name.

What happens to troops that are en route or battles that are taking place at the time of the merge?
Battles will be canceled, and troops/fleets returned to their home towns on the new server.

I have large amounts of resources en route in Freighters. What will happen to them?
The resources will be returned to your home town.

What happens to my donations?
Donations cannot be transferred. You will however receive tokens for your donations on the target server.

Is there anything special I need to do if I have purchased premium content?
No, these will be transferred to the new server and can continue to be used as normal.

What is the Festival of Worlds event?
During the event, various bonuses will be activated. There will be two periods for the Festival of Worlds:

• 7 days at the beginning of the merges
• 18 days at the end of the merges

To clarify: the war server merge will start with ONE target server (in EN, similar to the Pangaias). This will be a completely fresh, new server, which is the target for all other war servers. Other, new war servers, may be opened again in future, if the need arises.

The Soft Merge (manual 'self-merge') will begin on 09.04.2024 10:00 CEST.
