In game voting / Player Drivin Changes.

  • Once a month players will have a list of things to vote for changes in the game, Most voted for change is implemented.
    This will take place in game so that all players see it and have a voice not just the few who populate the msg board.


    It seems liking making suggestions on the board here is not taken serious even it appears to have wide support, unless it already aligns with what the dev team wants..


    You can have it any color.. as long as it's black :/


    Which makes this suggestion thread kinda ironic I suppose. :S

    Either that or maybe just remove suggestions from the board.

    Btw, does anyone remember the polls of some tiny and minor things posted by product manager, where players were able to select one out of three offered trivial improvements?

    I think a few games have used this before.. IIRC that's how runescape is doing things these days.

    Yes we had it. US Community rarely had it posted on board. EN was up to date.


    US can't participate when it's not posted for a vote. Expect failure when staff don't work on a task.

  • some of those are in game now.

    3, 31, 44, 61, 66, 68, 80 all sound like good idea's except they wouldn't allow normal building materials for the spartans (#80) because normally they need to be bought with ambrosia.. However.. seems like a proper reward for favor.. you can already get some units that way.. it's not very cost effective use of favor but that's probably where they'd do it if they was to do it at all.

    • Round times in battles will be 5 minutes now.
    • The Minelayer (which doesn't go to the battlefield like a Tender and can attack a space on the battlefield (randomly chosen at the beginning of each round by the system)) has been added to the game.
    • New land unit (Assassin) has been added to the game. The success of the unit which only attacks the Cook/Doctor increases in proportion to the number of productions.
    • The benefit of the Scientific Future Search changed to "reduce the cost of other researchs by 2%".
    • An account coming out of the vacation mode will no longer be able to use the Black Market building for the first 48 hours.
    • You can send a Spy from the town that you commissioned to another town without returning to your town now.
    • Experience feature that ensure that the number of casualties in battle isn't constant has been added to the game.
    • If a town is inactive,you can loot gold (1% of the amount of gold in the town) from that town now.
    • The new land unit (Amazon) has been added to the game. She's a more powerful "Front (close-combat) Battle Line" unit than the Steam Giant. But she can't be produced in the Barracks. She's generated by your city itself,depending on the frequency of your war reports that have low loss. So she takes her power from your successes in wars.
    • Cavalry unit (which will be located on the flanks on the battlefield) has been added to the game.
    • In case of failure in Piracy,some of your Pirate Score will be given to the defender now.
    • The character limit of the Notes section has been expanded.
    • Pirate attack on last 48 hours before the explanation of the Pirate High Score will no longer be possible.
    • You can train Spartan in Daily Tasks now.

  • These ideas are cool and my vote would be all of them. I vote all the ideas to be there on this game.


    Btw.. I am working on a suggestion list to add more units in this game, but due to real life, work and study i cannot finish it yet. But its comming.


    I will post it at the end of Jenuary 2024


    My point is, that i will include some of your units ideas to the list!


    Forexample horsemen. If thats ok ofcourse, otherwise i will only mention units you have not put on that list.

    Otherwise, the rest are very great to have in this game. They are too good to not to have them in this game.


    They will spark a new life in Ikariam and make it funnier and better in my point of view.


    Second, i wish you guys also focus on unit strength. I have never yet met a suggestion from players too upgrade unit strength further than 3 in workshops.


    Like up to level 7 maybe. Why 7? Because 7 is just a magical number after 3. Or perhaps 10!


    what i would like to see is an upgrade to power, health, armor, accurancy, ammo capacity and a reduction of size (So more units can be there on the battlefield). All that should be done in the workshop.


    Third, we could also have a function, where you would choose how long you want to spend to create your army. We could get a slide (Just like the one we have when we send resources. Then we choose how much each trade ship transport, and the less it has from 500, 400, 300, 200 and 100 capacity the faster they travel).


    We could have the same slide / bar or what ever its called. It can be set into 3 settings from regular training speed, 30% extra training speed and 75% extra training speed. And what you get is stronger units.


    Like if you want to train swordsmen and you select 30% longer training speed, then when they are done, these swordsmen are 30 % stronger. (The idea here is, that the longer you train, the better you are). Also these should once they get out from the training, be in defferent appearence.


    Swordsmen class 1 = Regular

    Swordsmen class 2 = 30 % stronger with better equipment and are maybe muscular looking

    Swordsmen class 3 = 75 % stronger with wilder weapons and looking like assassin creed maybe / samurai / etc.


    I mean you basicly upgrade unit class. Whether it is done in the barracks and shipyard or in a new building does not matter :)


    Etc.


    Lastly. They could also add extra futur researches up to level 30, that only focuses on boosting unit strength, armour, health, ammo capacity, you name it and so on!

    • A section that showing how much raw material you spend for each city has been added to the game.
    • You can't attack a player that have Total Score less than 5% of your Total Score now.
    • The number of workers that you can employ will increase according to your donation now. So you won't expect to level up to employ more workers.
    • When sending cargo ships from one town to another,it'll have to be cargo ships in that town first.
    • 3 new miracles have been added to the game.
      • Miracle that removes the looting protection in the Warehouse of the city you attacked.
      • Miracle that give +3 gold per piece for everything that you sell.
      • Miracle that build +10% faster.
    • When you make a pirate raid,you can lose 50% of your pirate points if you fail now. Pirate points that you lose will be given to the defender.
    • You can build the 3rd Trading Port (in place of the Pirate Fortress (green flag)) now.
    • Bashing rule has been added to the game again.
    • You can shrink a message window to a tab and message window doesn't get lost when you go to another page in the game now.
    • The battlefield was enlarged.
    • It'll no longer be possible to make pirate raid to someone on the same alliance and to accounts that you make IP sharing.
    • Special building areas for the Academy and the Temple (in lake for the Temple and in hill for the Academy) were added to the game. The necessary transport for the old players was made. Moreover,you'll now be able to build 2 Academies.
    • "Attract Vermin" feature has been removed from the game.

  • Hi the ones you have mentioned, were not the ones i did not like. You have mentioned stuff i also like!


    These that are shown below are the ones i dont like. Only these 7 out of 85! I like the rest.

    26- "Attract Vermin" feature has been removed from the game.

    I mean, if this function are here, then why would i choose regular or class 1 unit type? Wouldn't most players use class 3 to all their units? If class 3 are better than class 1 (As i have understood so far), why would i build class 1?


    I agree that we should have a function to upgrade unit armor, health, power, size and ammo capacity. But this slide would be useless, because most people would not choose the regular / class 1

    First we need 4 element/ore names.

    Swordsmen class 3 = 75 % stronger with wilder weapons and looking like assassin creed maybe / samurai / etc.

    Or perhaps they look like a "titan". Because this is Greek mythology.

    There are 2 lists there.


    Also, the Palace feature is not included in my previous message.

  • Why would i build the regular type or the fast class? Well because there was a thread before, here on this forum, where you would send waves of spearman between two towns on the same island. And keep on reinforcing it in endless of waves. Each wave consists of 1 spearman!


    when this happens, you would hold of the enemy forever or until someone runs out of moral. But if you have lots of cooks, then the enemy would withdraw from battle after a long time of endless rounds! I dont know what the trick is called but its very usefull! Thats why i would chose to build the regular type.


    And with a higher level of barracks and the right government form like: Dictatorship, then more units can be built to use this feature


    Second, i also use regular to aid in war quickly if i dont want to wait. Yes i know they will be weaker, but its better than waiting them out and loosing the war, because i have nothing.

    Or if i have recently lost all my units in a big war and i want time to heal! I build the weak / fast units to raid inactive and protect myself until stronger units have been built!


    Thats why i want to use the class 1 type. And once i have lots of units in class 1, i can then start building them in class 2 or 3 and fire class 1. Once class 2 has been built, i fire class 1. Once class 3 has been built i fire class 2. And then i am ready for the world again.


    So it will make the game better.

    Class 1 = To build fast units and acts as a cannon foder, until higher classes arrives. But yes i agree. You have to build allot of them to hold of class 2, and even more to hold of class 3! So those who has the time and resources can do it. Or use them in barbarian villages, so i dont loose high quality units there.


    Class 2 = In between of everything. If you are not really in a hurry and need good units then build this. Not bad, not good either!


    Class 3 = If you are not at war and have time to grow, build these. They are ofcourse strong and can defeat lower classes more easily!

    About the class names. Hmm, yeah Titans are a better name, agree to that :) But its just so they should look different, so we can see the difference between Class 1 - Class 2 and Class 3. Not only their name and stats! Their clothing, fitness level, weapons and steam Giants forexample should look different also. Since its a robot, it should have more shields here and there, tougher exoskeleton etc.


    And about the gems, i had to google a bit. But here is the result and i am talking about gemstones here, that we can upgrade our army to level 7 and not just level 3 in workshops


    Level 1 = Bronze Upgrade

    Level 2 = Silver Upgrade

    Level 3 = Gold Upgrade

    Level 4 = Black Opal Upgrade

    Level 5 = Regular Diamond Upgrade

    Level 6 = Sapphire Upgrade

    Level 7 = Blue Diamond Upgrade


    And who knows. There might also be some other gemstones / ores that are more valuable than the mentioned in the world of Gods.
