The White Lotus Society (WLS) formally declares war on the Shadow of Pearl (S-P) alliance. Once again, we are called to arms to defend our sovereignty from those who wish to manipulate people into believing an alternate set of facts. We are here to set the record straight. (This will be a long read.)
Background:
TheGodfather is the de facto leader of S-P, but he wasn’t always this way. He originally set his sights on WLS and has long tried to convince us to follow his lead. When he first came back to the game (or at least to Alpha), his previous alliance declined his application. Eventually, he ended up in WLS. WLS was at war with KofG at the time and we welcomed him to the team. Warfare requires teamwork and we were told he was a good fighter. And yet, we never really saw him participating in the fighting. Once the war was over, that’s when we saw him attacking other players.
At first, he attacked tagless players. Then he moved up to players tagged in alliances not likely to come after him. Then he got brave and started attacking members of the peaceful alliance SOL. In rundmail, he would brag about the war he was conducting against SOL. We warned him repeatedly that he was free to attack other players as long as he accepted the consequences of his actions. We informed him we were not looking for a new war. He said he understood and then continued his attacks on SOL. Eventually, SOL started attacking him back and winning. Godfather called out for backup in rundmail, bragging about this great and glorious war he had brought us. In other words, he wanted WLS to go to war with SOL to protect him from their retaliation. We refused. Godfather left WLS shortly thereafter.
The next alliance he joined was BP, but he never gave up on WLS. Once he solidified his grip on BP, he started sending WLS’s leadership messages about how it would be in our best interest to become closer to BP and distance ourselves from Lost. He sent David Munter and me several of these messages. Once it became public knowledge that the Leader of WLS was also the Leader of Lost, the messages stopped while he recalculated his message.
Current Events:
Recently, he has started with the messages again. This time the message was that WLS needed to remove its leader and install a new leader. He offered peace with S-P if WLS chose a new leader. Then he started threatening us. Godfather informed WLS that S-P may choose to “attack WLS on occasion” because S-P doesn’t see us as a real alliance. He believes we are only a “puppet” alliance to his enemies, Lost. If we wanted the attacks to stop, WLS needed to break its association with Lost and change Leaders. Again, we declined his offer of “peace.”
When that didn’t work, Godfather sent several of his minions to attack WLS. Again, they were acting under Godfather’s claim that WLS should not be viewed as a real alliance until we agreed to his demands.
And then yesterday, Godfather tried yet another tactic. He sent out messages to several of our members claiming that there is a “group of people” inside WLS that “thinks WLS needs to be independent of Lost” but are afraid to speak up. So, he is speaking on their behalf to inform the other members of WLS of their wishes.
ENOUGH!
WLS always has been and always will be its own alliance. We also value the loyalty of our allies and our members. As a member of WLS, Godfather only cared about himself and his O-Point collection. Loyalty to anyone other than to him was meaningless. He tried to bend our alliance to fit his needs and we refused. He has spent the last 3 years trying to assert control over us. It will never happen!
Godfather is a puppet master who manipulates others to protect himself. But no matter how many minions he acquires, we will never bow to his will. No matter how many chatrooms he creates for people “from all alliances” to join him, we will not visit and become confused by his alternate facts. WLS stands up to its enemies. We are not interested in offers of servitude in exchange for his “protection.”
Since S-P has decided it wants to attempt to intimidate WLS, we are declaring war on them.
Terms:
- Godfather stands on a podium and sings “Baby Shark” over and over. A recording of his performance will suffice as evidence.
- Godfather shaves the mustache off his avatar. Alternatively, he can replace his current avatar with a Barbie image, but she must be wearing hot pink. Either image must be left on public display for 6 months.
- Godfather (and everyone else in S-P) agrees to stop trying to solicit support from WLS members. Poaching has never been acceptable, and this is just as repulsive.
- Godfather posts on the boards an acknowledgment that WLS is not a puppet alliance but is its own alliance.
- S-P removes its floaters and its wonder-leeching alts from our islands.
- S-P convinces us that they are sorry.
