(reported) Unable to sell resource to a player on the same island using freighters

  • Hi everyone.

This bug seemed to occur about the same time as the update to the shipping tab, so it has been a couple of days now..

I can buy and sell goods to other islands with both ship types.

But I can only sell to a local player on the same island using merchant ships, and then only if I manually enter the amount. (the max button doesn't work for same island sales)

The indicated capacity to the right of the ship number sliders is correct and updates if I alter the capacity slider. If I enter that number for the Merchant ships, it accepts the sale and starts loading. But using Freighters I get a 'Your Trade Fleet doesn't have enough space!" even if I deliberately under load the ships.

Not the end of the world, but a little annoying. Running freighters across with a big order to my local buyer has been nice.

  • Thanks, Draxo.

Would have been amusing if I was the only one :-)

Its still occurring as of a few minutes ago. Do mention if you need more details. I'll try to check back at least daily.

  • it works for me now :)

Edit: still doesnt work for some of my alliance mates

Edit2: seems you need to have around double the amount of resources the other person wants to buy to be able to use the freighters. its like the bug when creating ships

  • Similar problem here.

I can't add resources by pressing 'max'.

And if I type the numbers manually, the form doesn't register a change, so it is impossible to send the goodies.

I have enough resources and boat capacity.

I don't even need to include freighters in the mix to reproduce this.

Using Chrome in this instance. Clearing cache doesn't change it.

Cannot reproduce it in all cities though.

  • Hello

Is it possible that you need a Dockstation in the other city in order to send you're cargo-ships? I can trade with players only a couple that I can't buy or send goods on the market. So I guess it might be the building itself that is needed in the other city.

Other thing can be something with multi-accounts and the system automatic blocks certain trades because you bought or sold some goods from his other account and the timer is still running since you just have such a long traderoute from a couple of days.

  • Neither of those apply to me, embio.

Good suggestions, but I had traded to the same island buyer previously, both with freighters and with merchant ships. Its only the former that fails to work now. (Aside from the need to type in the shipment quantity now.)

And I am able to use freighters between towns that have no dockyards in either town elsewhere. So far as I know, dockyards only affect the number if freighters one can buy, not the trading one can do.

While I do have a second account, it has not done any trades with the buyer, or interacted with them in any fashion. And if that was the cause, surely my merchant ships would also be locked out?

  • I have same problem.

This is the possible problem, why we are not able to carry out our negotiations by the market

    Missed this edit.

Regret to say the buyer on my island wants 650 000 marble and I have more than double that amount, so this would not be affecting my trades.

    :(

also, when the trade fails it takes away my resources and when i reload they appear again

maybe it could help the dev to find where is the problem

  • Missed this edit.

continuing the tests, I asked my friend with whom I trade in the market to reduce the amount of resources he was looking to buy from 2400000 to 260000 and asked him to put something to sell in the same cities. and now I can send the freighters.

  • I had a wee poke around now the weekend is here. My same island issue remains: the buy offer is now only 25k of marble and I hold far more than double that. I am still unable to fill using Freighters.

I have been able to replicate in part the issue Sscotta has. Could not check the 'double' aspect, but if I am holding less than the buy offer I was unable to fill any of it with Freighters. This held for islands 1 space away and beyond. I could manually type in a quantity and send my merchant ships.

  • I'm attempting to move trade goods between two of my own towns. I have enough capacity, so this should succeed.

When I submit this, however, it says "Your trade fleets doesn't have enough space".

It happened for all my towns, which is pretty annoying.

Some observations that may be very helpful reproducing the problem:

    - I have 350 normal trade ships. 14 of those are 'daily log-in' bonus.

    - I sent my troops out for a loot, slightly before midnight.

    - Past midnight, I lost my daily log-in bonus (must have missed a day while I was on holiday)

    - Loot continues with the extra boats (expected)

    - Server now thinks: This player is over their natural capacity, we can't have them ship any goods now.

    - Bug happened in all cities.

    - Bug resolved itself when loot returned.

  • I think it isn't the same bug, as this one is trying to move goods between their own cities, and also there are some special conditions, i.e. losing the daily bonus ships in the middle of a trip.

  • its the same error that appears when trading

it will appear also if you try to send resources to someone else

most likely its some error in the js fuction that calculates how much space you have

  • It is a similar, yet distinct bug, which is why I'm reporting it separately. Otherwise it may get overlooked, or worse: the discussion gets mixed and thus confusing.

In this case you can pick the trade goods in the shipping screen, but the server will refuse the move. It happened in a very specific case, as described in my initial post. This was a one-off until ships returned from looting. It occurred globally, in all cities.

The other one happens more at random and only for trade, where you cannot even pick the quantity at the trade screen. It seems to impact some cities, but not all. The scenario described here is not a trigger for that one.

if you put the values by hand it has the same error

its the same error but you dont see the other part because there's no max button when you are moving resources
