Guide for account expansion beyond 12 cities

  • Hi!

With the new changes to the game, of course that many of us started to think about expanding their accounts, either beyond the 12 cities limit, or beyond the Town Hall max level of 37 (without capacity doubling).

In order to do this, you need some guide, which includes resource income compared to resource requirements. Then, add into discussion, the need of new reducer levels.

Of course, many of you asked: what is the max level of a specific reducer (mostly used wood and marble) that I should target? If I just go straight to lvl50, is it worth it?

Well, in order to do this, I created a spreadsheet, already included some formulas to help us with that.

    Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/spread…RZQLGfOM/edit?usp=sharing

In order to edit the spreadsheet (for example to change the targeted reducer levels) you will need to make a copy of that spreadsheet on your local Google Sheets account and start editing

First sheet: contains the most important buildings from the game (which I target firstly with this new update): Palace/Governor's Residence, Town Hall and resource reducers. I you want to add more, just copy/paste the values from Help (keep in mind to use a fresh/new account, in order to have the base numbers).

Second sheet: contains the same buildings, but with some reducers applied (from research and from buildings themselves)

Third sheet: contains resource production and resource requirements for what I target for the next period: Palace lvl12 and TownHall lvl 42 (I am currently at 37).

Of course that I start from level 32 for all the reducers (being the max level until now), so I played with what could I get if I go to a specific reducer level.

In the third sheet, you will notice that I calculated the amount of wood and marble that a wood/marble reducer is worth upgrading. And I got about 229k for wood and 440k for marble (I am using total amount of resources because regularly I use Premium-Trader to exchange resources so I don't care about what type or resource is required. Others, can also trade for resources).

Those numbers mean that: if a reducer total cost is below that number, then it is worth it. Otherwise, it is not.

Now, looking at the ReductionBuildings sheet, you can find that I should be fine going with wood reducer (Carpenter) to level 43 and marble reducer (Architect's Office) to level 48. Anything above these levels won't bring me an actual benefit (at least not for what I have planned). So, I decided I will go with a level 42 wood reducer and level 48 marble reducer. I don't care about the rest, since I do not have space (in my existing towns) for new buildings, unless they add some. I can think about new strategies only with the new cities. But, I do NOT plan to demolish any of my existing warehouses, just to create a new reducer.

For example, in my case, initially I planned to go with wood lvl40 and marble lvl38. But then, I updated the reducers in the spreadsheet and I noticed that with the new reducers I need 65M resources less, while upgrading the reducers (in all 12 cities) it costs me about 48M resources. The actual cost is actually higher, because it is really hard to calculate the reducers costs of two reducers that apply to each-other. So, let's say the actual cost is 50-52M and they are still worth.

Soooo... you can go ahead and copy this spreadsheet and play around with your own numbers. You might find it useful for a good next expansion planning.

For me, with the current income level, it is very hard to even think beyond Palace level 13 or Town Hall level 42. Just to get there, it will require me about 2 freaking years.

Unless they come up with something that can actually be useful for this update, this is all I can do.

    Have fun!

  • Well, I don't know what is with those coefficients (and why are they better than the actual building time given by the game itself), but I gave them a shot and tried, as an example using Academy L10:

    1440/1 * 1.2^10 - 720 = 8196.1 seconds.

By looking at Help, Academy L10 needs 2h 16m, which is just simply: 8160 seconds.

So, I am just curious: WHY would you trust some magic numbers instead of the actual numbers offered by the game itself?

  • Because the number given bij the help is a fixt round number, not the real building time. In you example for instance a accademie buildingtime level 10 is 2h 16m and 36s. For reasons i don't know, GF chosen for giving 2 numbers as your building time... so in your example it's just 36 seconds but it could be up to 59m and 59s. if building time shows 1D 23h, it could be 1D 23h 59m 59s.
