Sorry to say, but Ikariam never has been anything else than exactly that: a long term game.

And nowhere have we ever stated otherwise. That's the whole point of Ikariam, actually. Build your empire, maintain it, steer its fate. If you're in, you're in it for the long run. This isn't, never has been and never will be a sprint. It's a marathon.

It is possible to create a new trading port. The navy shipyard is not necessary in every city. You can wash.

Well we have different definitions of constructive. I gave some constructive feedback, as have others. I can also restate it if you want:

1. The building slots are too many for the current state of the game. They take out the strategy from the game and reduce player decision-making.

2. The trade ships cost impossibly much at the higher numbers, as many have pointed out. There is no point in implementing a system that nobody can achieve. It also very strongly rewards players who have in the past (past literally 10 years) accumulated gold while staying barely active, instead of of rewarding players who play every day and are more likely to spend the gold on other things.

3. Doubling (sigh!) the number of trade ships without any change to loading time is again strange. It means that you now spend much more time loading stuff, thus not achieving the goal of being able to move resources quicker.

This is constructive feedback. The fact that I don't like the changes does not make it less constructive. And I do get annoyed when people with uninformed opinions defend the changes, like the guy that said "people with 10B gold will have plenty of gold left after buying all the ships". NO they won't, and that is the problem. So yeah, not all feedback is born equal, but not all the feedback is of the same value.

Yeah, all of which has been responded to several times already.

Quite frankly, Fawkes, the fact that you're mistaking Ikariam for Instantgratificationariam, is solely and exclusively your problem.

We've always been a tanker and not a speedboat. Always. From the very first day.

You've been told several times to keep the bigger picture in mind. You're not willing to do so. That's your decision.

And sorry to make another post, but there is also number 4:

4. The game very clearly favours peaceful farming as opposed to other kinds of play, as the economy-focused players get to have all the buildings with no compromises and also get 2 ports, while players who want to be able to build a navy cannot have more than 1 port on their cities. If you have everybody 4 more building slots, give everybody 1 more port slot.

I understand. I play this game from childhood. Sometime I say to my wife - I will give my main account to next generation I think it is fanny and no one have not seen something like this

Now that is utter nonsense, sorry.

If that were true, I wouldn't have so many complaints of smaller accounts yelling at me for letting all those bad big boys attack and overwhelm them constantly.

If that were true, our tickets, messages and DMs wouldn't be full of "How the hell am I supposed to defend myself against that? I can't even build up in peace to reach a point at which I can start building up defenses?".

Ikariam provides ample opportunity for fighters. Too much, if you ask me, but I am a unicorn in Ikariam's world who doesn't want to fight at all and is perfectly content playing Simkariam and I am well aware of how much of a minority I am with that playstyle.

I'm with Ikariam since August 2008 now. I've never felt as if I as a Simkariam player was favoured. Never. Literally NEVER.

As a matter of fact, I had to move servers several times until I found one where I could be left alone and just build and trade.

It is not possible to make every player happy. Now players want to have everything at once. When I started Ikaria, I went to war with stonemasons and spearmen. The struggle there made me more happy. When I had 10000 sulphurs, I struggled hard to get it out of the loot. I wouldn't be so happy if I was given a ready high account on that day. We have forgotten those days now. We want everything instantly.

nice update thanks ikariam. badidol makes the necessary explanations, but comments without anyone reading it. Be patient for a long game. it will be very good

We get a solution for that, you can upgrade the Trading Port to lvl 70+ with the posibility to increase x10 times the loading speed.

If you have slow loading time, focus on upgrading the Trading Port.

Stop expecting to get a high reward(fast loading) without doing anything.

I did stop ones for a couple of years, not because i hated the game, but because my time could not be with Ikariam at that moment. Sometimes you just left a game because it is not your cup of tea.

I would like to ask you a big favor for something that I think may be of interest to everyone , especially because of the 4 new building slots now available.

At least for the old servers , and if other players approve it

premise :

a long time ago on the Italian site a suggestion of mine had been accepted but it was never implemented in the game.

the same suggestion I also saw here.

It would be to be able to move the arrangement of the buildings in the polis , in the same way for all the polis , so as to have the same view for all the polis , and to have a more ordered "map" .

I ask you , if possible , instead of making this program modification , which maybe is difficult and challenging if you have to give the possibility to each player to create his own peersonalized map of his own polis , set you automatically a predetermined arrangement of the buildings in the polis , so that each type of building can be built only and exclusively in a given place.

For buildings that have already been constructed, they would automatically relocate to the areas you choose.

The logic of redistribution could be :

warehouses all in the lower left corner

buildings in which you interact , in the center

buildings in which you do not interact , at the edges

buildings with similar functions , all close together in an area

In short as now if I want to build the port or the shipyard I have two precise slots where to do it , the same thing would happen for the other buildings

Thank you for your answer. But there is something you don't understand. In the past, resources were scarce. Reaching the source was difficult. Resource production and quantity increased, as did inflation and price increases. capacity should be increased at the same rate. This is not possible with the number of ships alone. Please show some empathy. Do not answer sharply. And think about it.

The empathy is there, mostly with the victims, though.

How happy will they be, do you think, if we enable you to loot 500.000 resources in one go? Or even more?

Would YOU like to be emptied like that?

The current capacity is more than enough for looting and we will most definitely not go ahead and more than double it.

We already added 100k.

I don't like the idea Luky i want to have the possibility to put my warehouses where I want or any other building.

But I strongly support the possibility to move the position of building in a city, that change will make most of the players happy.

and it is a suggestion approved by many communities for a long time already , but never implemented ....

obviously this would be much better !!!

This is a one good update, game is going in right direction.

But we need a litle more to improve this game.

There is a lot of space to improve game but let's start with:

1. looting gold (we need to buy those additional 200 transport ships which cost billions of gold) at least possibility to steel gold from inactive players or from player who have not other resources .

2. Give us the ability to arrange the buildings in the cities as we want cos with this 4 new spots this is a big mess right now -This is urgent.

3. Some improvements about piracy (the possibility of protection against piracy with warships or in some similar form).

i stopped playing ikariam 4-5 years ago when it lost its difficulty and strategy for me, everything was limited and attainable (cities, building levels, research, ships)

now that they added a lot of impossible goals and the game became interesting again I came back and now after 3 months of rebuilding and preparing for future goals I can finally start playing..

no, no and in any case not, (and I say this as someone who sometimes sends a few looters) now with the new version it is possible to loot more resources than any miner can extract..

and that was only with 116k transport capacity

The cost of palace almost double every level and i am about to have it level 13 at end of december and 14 in january. And the ship problem existed even before the update, i dont wnat to login 15 times a day for 4 months just to ship the resources. What is the point of playing then? No strategy, no fights, just sending resources like a robot.

if you have a problem with transporting so much resources, change your strategy, you have to adapt to the game, the game can't adapt to you.. i could imagine building 17-18 cities with only the pre-update transport capacity, now it's even easier..

having more cities is not about being able to get the resources, but it is a much more complex problem from acquisition to protection to logistics. And that's what I really like about it.
