could you please have a chat with the developers on Monday and post an update?
You really didn't get that once there will be any news they won't be hidden from us, but until then we just have to wait?

Please check here: UPDATED: Maintenance and Merge - 01.12 & 02.12

It's been 3 months since the merger was announced and now the war servers haven't merged

So once this Maintenance update is performed - how long time do we anticipate that we will see the inactives being around? will they start being deleted right away or is there a time delay?

This update should resolve the issue of deleting accounts that were not automatically deleted after the 7 day period
At least I think so
-
As mentioned, the update deals with the inactive accounts problem.
-
This is wierd. I've just teleported two cities into newly-freed slots and their spaces (on their original island) were immediately filled by inactives or people on vacation (I'm not sure which). And I don't mean 10 minutes later but immediately.
-
Yesterday I deleted a floater and the space was filled almost (but not quite) immediately. A few hours later I warped a town, but we replanted a floater in its spot right away before it got filled in. I think there's at least a 5 second delay between when you leave a spot and when an inactive takes it. So if you're REALLY fast you can grab the spot. (Admittedly, 5 seconds isn't much.)
-

It deals with the problem! What does that mean?
Does that mean that the problem is fixed? If the problem is fixed - when can we then expect the inactive accounts to dissappear ?
If its not fixed - what happens next?
-
Well, it's well past 1030 CET and all the old ghosted accounts are still clogging up the islands
-
A warped account has disappeared, only for the spot to be replaced by another old ghosted account. Things don't seem to be improving.
-
And it will continue to be like that.
Addressing the issue means: the deletion takes place again as it should. However, keep in mind, that we still have many ghosts to take care of, which means: until all ghosts have been graveyarded it will be very likely that an island spot will be taken again soon after a ghost has been deleted. This will stay this way until all ghosts have been handled accordingly and there are many ghosts.
-
surely GF must know the amount of Ghosts on every server? or?
Thereby be able to estimate an apprixamte time before they have all disappeared. Or am I just too much of an engineer here?

I have random, rough estimates.
Without wanting to sound rude: I am not going to make exact calculations for each server now.
All in all we're talking easily several millions of ghosts, so it'll be a while.
-
in the ES community a lot of inactives got deleted
theres still a ton left but it is progress
being toxic here is not going to solve anything, just wait a little longer

That's good news.
