  • That is pretty good, having to have defensive troops in the beginning of the game isn`t very nice, so this strategy works out very well.


    It is also cool that with the addition of the new building space you are able to have all 4 Warehouses, Palace/RG, Academy, all 5 Reducers, both Boosters, Dump and a Tavern or .Museum (you don`t really need both of them if you are not gonna be fighting other players, you`d be fine having only one) in all cities. This would be very useful when you reach the point of upgrading your RGs to level 11.

    A single ramship per colony and walls to level 5 or 6 to force artillery to be needed to crack it witha single spearman doesn't cost much gold at all and adds a lot of extra security. The 0 MS approach and no one attacks you may work on some servers, but 0 MS screams come pillage me with blind attacks, especially in the first few weeks as you probably didn't follow the tutorial to get wall levels so you can be hit with spearmen only. Forcing people to hit you with rams is more beneficial then having a no wall colony. Hideouts aren't needed though - if people are going to hit you they don't even need to spy you because you have 0 MS, they can blind hit you without a worry in the world, which is why a solo spearman and a lowish wall is a good baseline, because it also shows that whilst you may not have a standing military to farm with you aren't afraid to be defensive or build one as needed. this deters far more people then having 0 MS and no walls or ships to block your ports.

    To the build approach as a whole, it's actually fairly standard for any building account approach now to have the 4 warehouses, the dump, the 5 reducers, both boosters the museum and the tavern, alongside the palace/GR. You aren't building military so you don't need to have your science very high and can cut academies early on for the dump so as when you need to pool resources for higher level buildings the dump is a cheap and effective way to add the extra storage as it's relatively easy to get to 4 level 20 warehouses fast especially when both the carpenters and architects are maxed out. Using this approach, it is very easy to get an account into the millions of points range without drawinge xcess attention and also to just ignore aggressors entirely. If you are going down this route for the long term and don't plan on ever havinga military then you don't need a hepha or a Collossus (I'd go with 1 just on the odd occasion people have shut you down to attack other players and you can't shift res through blockades, it's for once beuracracy has been unlocked), but instead can go for a more colony spoecific developmental miracle approach utilising both athena for the extra safe resource limit (getting t to perpetual athena is insane, at level 5 and max 160 warehouses you can have a whopping 153,200 safe resources all the time the miracle is up. Combine the athena witha demeter for population growth and maintenance and you can get a rather interesting build happening. Lon term though, sitting on 30 mortars and 120 spearmen is not ahuge income loss and also gives you a farming force that you can blind hit polayers with for quick farms and supplementary income. remember, inactives with sub 5,000 TS are usually ignored and they can have hundreds of thousands of resources waiting to be pillaged. It's worth havinga small military once you are established just for the odd raid, it won't matter if they get killed as the investment was so small.
