wrong calculation or ....

  • Hello, I would like to ask about a possible issue or misunderstanding regarding Town Wall upgrade costs.

I took screenshots directly from the game.

My Carpenter’s Workshop and Architect’s Office are both already maxed at level 50.

According to the building information shown in-game, the resource cost reduction should leave me paying only 36% of the original cost.

Based on the numbers shown for upgrading the Town Wall from level 48 to 49, the expected cost should be approximately:

    • 2,372,997 wood
    • 2,512,314 marble

However, the actual amount I had to pay was:

    • 2,759,298 wood
    • 2,921,295 marble

This is significantly higher than what the displayed 36% reduction would suggest.

Did I misunderstand something, or is there another mechanic affecting Town Wall upgrade costs that I may have overlooked?

    Images are attached

  • The misunderstanding lies in the fact that if you go to the HELP section (top left), the figures shown there already include all the bonuses or discounts you have earned in the game.

    Example

If, without any help, a town hall requires 100 resources, but you have a 20% discount earned from constructing a building that reduces the amount of resources needed to build, you will actually see 80 rather than 100 in the Help section.

And so you no longer need to deduct 20% from 80.

I hope I’ve made myself clear, as it’s not easy...

  • this still doesn't make sense
If in the HELP the cost already reflects all the discounts (research and reduction buildings) then why the cost of the building is different from what is shown in the HELP ?
As it's seen in the screenshots chauhan989 added

  • The math is in fact correct. The way it's displayed, it's confusing, but not wrong.

The Help section shows the cost with research reduction taken into account. So 6591657 wood is actually only 86% from the base cost (which is 7664717). If you then apply all the calculation (meaning 36% from 7664717) you get 2759298, basically what shows on the upgrade tab. That's why you can't calculate 50% from the help section cost.

The "logic" behind this, is that the research reduction applies to all towns, while the building reduction applies only to that specific town, so when you have no reduction building, you will pay the price displayed in the Help section

  • They 'Help' screen show all ACCOUNT wide reductions (aka Researches) - because the reductions work in all towns. It does not show the 'Reduction building' reductions because they apply to 1 city even though you might have that building in each city the system does not account for them.

Already double-checked what you said. Correct 100%. Thanks so much.:closedthread:
