Will I be discovered while helping with defense?

If I try to help a friend defend his town, will I be discovered while helping with defense?

Is there a way for enemy spies to discover that the defending troops in my friend's city belong to me?

Or will the enemy's battle reports reveal that I'm providing the defense?

so i told my friend to keep upgrade his hideout quickly then i can help by selling my troops

and i don't want to joing his war directly because his enemy is also my trading partners...
