Where did the link to the Boards go? Discord is a good chat, but it's not the same as a forum.

I think there was some discussion of this elsewhere.
For whatever reason, apparently they felt there was not room for both.
I can shrink my browser width to quite a narrow width, and there's plenty of room for all the top-bar links.

That might be true for the english language - but however the nav bar is the same for all languages. And not in all languages is enogh space for both.
So the decission was made to display there the more used tool.
The board is still available from the lobby.

Ah yes, forgot about that.
I have a software project where I had to re-work some layouts as Russian has very long words.

But the drop-down menu for Options is the same as the one when you click your account name in the top left corner. Why not just replace Options with the board link?

I shouldn't be that difficult to make a "Socials" button that, when hover over, drops down multiple options, like Forum, Discord, Facebook or other official socials

They simply don't want to. They closed threads which exposed too much truth of the game. You can't say the magic words, otherwise they will try everything to hide from most people. That's why only discord is available.
After some time, most players will check discord, one or two will check the forum, and everybody will forget this conversation ever happened.

Their actions suggest they will shut down the forums soon to save costs from hosting it.
No. We simply exchanged the link ingame from the less used platform forum to the already more used platform Discord.
The forum is in no current danger of being shut down and there are no mid to long term plans to do so.
It's pretty clear that if you cancel the link you try to drain the forum. No one will save the link. New players won't even get notice of the forum.
So it's pretty clear GF is trying exactly that: shutting down the forum because it won't be used any longer.
If it wasn't in danger why locking the door and throwing the key away???
Very clever indeed: no documentated bugs and critics, no problems any longer.

Kind of like filling out a ticket, they tell you they cant get your 50 million account back and thats it. No wonder the game is dying. No help from support at all.
