The image for the Forge is very different from everything else. Stylistically it doesn't fit. If nothing else change it from gray to white marble. But it's also slightly over-size and could do with being shrunk a smidge.

my guess is who ever did the original building work is no longer around.. agree though at the very least they could have matched the building color, looks very out of place on color pallet alone.

Here's the original:
I lightened two more:
Version 1:
Version 2:
It's hard to tell if either of the two are better, but i feel like the version 2 matches Ikariam's theme better.
It's hard to compare in isolation so here's a warehouse:

+What color comes to mind first when you think of "magical fog"?
-Purple?
+Okay, so what "building" color does "magical fog" purple look best with?
-Grey?
+So we build the building on these colors.
Such a dialogue probably took place at the IH3 meeting.
Next to other buildings it looks "cursed for playing with time".

these three are the same.

The 14.0.1 update does look better but the colour is still not quite right. And I think I've spotted why:
Lighting has not been applied. Notice the shadows of the Workshop and the Temple. The Forge needs to be lit from the same side so it is lighter on the left and casts a shadow to the right.
In general, lighting and shadows on the buildings do not appear to be entirely consistent but that's another matter; here it's completely missing.

Iām holding a minute silence right now in support of this improvement so far. Theyāve read the dislike for grey, lack of colour etc and made change
-
I mean, they've listened to the player base plenty when it met their vision. Everyone complained about upgrades feeling too weak, so they 5x'd them.
-
Glad to hear they listen, Iāve got hundreds more complaints to lodge

Anyways I didnāt advocate for unit upgrade changes or the +1 to +5 āimprovementā - I havenāt been playing, Iāve been graveyarding my accounts for a combat operation thatās basically ruined. Just like my last one from a game bug yippieeeee
-
It's not ruined. You just have to actually upgrade your units now.
-
Everyone had the same 3/3 upgrades and forge. You could just look at ikalogs and see for yourself who has ability and who doesnāt
Now itās primarily just who had more upgrades. A perfect aspect of fairness just swept away and life goes on. Weāve had this discussion, we both have our different opinions. I like this thing that we have, letās keep doing it. The battle of wills - keyboard edition -

Perhaps the lack of a shadow is a detail that tells us that the building is "disconnected from time".
Doomed to live day and night same. But I agree with you, it still looks like it "doesn't belong there" next to the other buildings.
Is there anyone who says "I can design better"?

I like this thing that we have, letās keep doing it. The battle of wills - keyboard editionAnd I'll say again, no, it isn't. It's only a problem if you are severely under upgraded compared to your opponent. And if you are? You're actively making a choice to be.
Someone attacking someone who had 200m points while they had 2m points, before upgrades, was still at a huge disadvantage anyways.
The most bizarre thing about this is that if you're an actual fighter and not a builder, this is a huge advantage for you because builders aren't generally hyper upgrading their troops.
