First Impressions of Navy and Land Battles

  • I've had a few fights so far, and here are my initial thoughts:

First of all, I faced a level 44 before the update. In round one, I was able to break through one wall and almost a second section, so in round two, only one box was open. Now, after the update, I can break through two and a half boxes-sections of the wall

However, the steam rams are dying way too easily! I lost about 70 steam rams in a single battle against fire ships and rams positioned on the front line, and the enemy didn’t even have rockets in their first line! That feels a bit off.

What are your thoughts so far? Have you noticed similar issues?

  • I think it's the new normal.

    Steam Rams:

    - v12

    HP 576

    Armour 16+6+2=24

    Damage (166+6)×120%=206

    - v13

    HP 11 520

    Armour 320+6+2=326

    Damage (3320+6)×120%=3991

    - v12 vs v13

    Armour 326/24=13,58

    Damage 3991/206=19,34 (+42% vs armour)

So, in v13 thw damage increase +42% more than the armour.

I think it's normal more losses in v13.

  • it's gonna take a bit as people upgrade certain things. We always have a half a dozen battles going in our alliance with a few hundred thousand troops and ships and are doing a lot of watching. I'm thinking the defensive upgrades are the first before offensive like as for hops and swords. Speeds are killed as are morts in some sea battles but it all depends on the upgrades the enemy has. Being in a server war gives us lots of good info and the fighters are watching very carefully.

  • Thanks for the heads up..
I will also had a land battle and i have noticed that the balloons are useless honestly the cant kill a single mortal without any upgrade

Maybe the enemy did the defense upgrades first. That's what I'm doing. With that many balloons i would have waved the heck out of it if possible. 30 gyros,15 balloons and a spear. As long as you both have equal amounts of balloons and gyros you wont kill mortars.

  • have to disagree with you on this. That’s just the way it works: gyros target balloons first, and the surviving balloons then go on to attack the mortals. Even if I hadn’t had any balloons, he still wouldn’t have killed my mortals he would have gone straight for my gyros instead.

Anyway, the navy bombing still works the same as land bombing, using gyros to kill the enemy balloons.

I was thinking that if I upgrade my navy balloons, they might be able to kill more than four units on the third line... hmm.

Don’t be shy, guys—if you’ve got any tips or tricks, share them with us!

  • One thing: Baloons are dying immediately without any damage whatsoever, to gyros. Both with Forge active.

One thing to rapidly invest, I believe, would be defense for baloons (ground)

Yes,that was the first recommendation some of our fighters said. That and hop and sword defence.

  • post the CR if you can, how many rounds? we need something to compare it to, sounds like it might excessive though.

that's gonna change things quite a bit then.. on both sides, use to be it was still profitable to deploy bombers if the enemy had morters but sounds like that might not be the case now.

It also means defense is going to be more difficult because you can't do anything to their mortars, by the time you've chewed thru their bombers or gyro's and won air supremacy they will have gotten thru your wall and either withdrew and replaced with rams or have ran out of ammo and aren't on the field.

  • It was just one round on the second round, the Colossus got him. haha

Before, the balloons used to kill a few mortals, but now they do nothing. And I think it's because they’re too weak. None of them survived, whereas normally 4–5 would make it through and take out some enemy mortals.

So yes and yes again, balloons definitely need armour.

What’s the point of giving them extra damage if they die straight away anyway?

I don't normally deploy Mortars until all the Balloons have been killed. This is going to make me rethink that.

  • I did it, mate and it worked perfectly haha!

Yesterday I sent 15 bombs, he took them all, and as expected, I only had one loss.

My Italian friend, you're an expert in navy battles,we need your expertise!

If you ever do upgrades with balloon carriers etc., please test these setups: 1-5-30, 1-5, or 1-30. Let us know if we would have fewer losses and more enemy casualties.
