I am afraid that this could make it literally impossible for newer players to even compete with established accounts.
I like the idea of additional improvements for units, but improving them 20 times seems a bit too much for me. i would love to see 5-6 upgrades in total for combat units - for transports ships i am all in for more upgrades.
is the last level of these upgrades available?

You'd need to upgrade to level 60 to get the equivalent to today's 3 because of the 20x.
My only complaint is you can't upgrade the attack/armor of the wall. Seems fitting to include that as a land unit and also give it the 20x instead of 18x multiplier.
Also, each workshop can upgrade something, I have a 32 workshop and I'm building a second one to see how they interact now.

In the match between a high armored account and a GP loaded account, balance is achieved. However, if the GP loaded account is replaced with a high armored unit, balance is achieved. But this will cause problems for GP accounts.

As the upgrades are infinite, they need to be more granular.
I will say, I do hope that premium gets a queue and that they add a notification when a workshop project is done.

No, that happened at the beginning at the test server when the update came and was changed later on the fly, so that everyone got their unit-upgrades back.

In most buildings there is a small reduction in the material requirement, in some nothing changes while in a few(sea charter,black market,pirate) the materials required increase slightly.

Will we be able to upgrade Spartans? Or will Hoplite upgrades apply to them? If not, I'm not sure I see any point in a mature account buying them as a sufficiently upgraded Hoplite will become better.
