Infinite Horizons, Milestone 2

    we have some news for you!


    1. Ikariam Testserver

    At https://lobby-test.ikariam.gameforge.com there is EN800, also known as "the test server". For quite some time we have not used it like one, though. We're planning to change that again and try using it more in the way its name would suggest. With milestone 2 of Infinite Horizons coming up soon, this is as good a time as any to start!


    Keep in mind: it's a test server. Things can go poof unexpectedly at any time and on a test server, this does not constitute an emergency. You'd expect it, really, that's what test servers are there for: finding the great big poofs and ironing them out ;)


    Furthermore, remember: there is no payment on the test server. That is not a bug, that's intended :)


    2. Infinite Horizons (Milestone 2)

    We are getting ready to release Milestone 2 of Infinite Horizons.

    We'll release it on the test server first and take it from there.


    We'll announce dates as soon as we've nailed them down!

    tomorrow, around 10:00 CET, we'll be rolling out Milestone 2 of Infinite Horizons on the test server (view details above).

    This is the changelog:

    • Changes:
      • Preparations for the next update
      • Building costs/times for all buildings have been changed
      • The tutorial has been updated to match the new building costs/times
      • The basic stats of all units and the Town Wall have been increased
      • Unit improvement levels in the Workshop are no longer limited
      • New improvements for Merchant Ships and Freighters have been added to the Workshop
      • Improved the process when developing improvements in the Workshop with missing resources
    • Bug fixes:
      • Fixed an issue where the tutorial hand did not point at the Research button
      • Fixed display issues in the ‘Get Resources!’ window when certain items were in the shop

    tomorrow, 27.03.2025, around ~11:00 CET, we'll update the PTS with another new iteration of Milestone 2 of Infinite Horizons.

    • Fixed incorrect Town Hall upgrade costs
    • Fixed incorrect Saw Mill upgrade costs
    • Fixed incorrect Weapon and Damage values for the Town Wall (levels 10-20)
    • Fixed issue with building titles and descriptions being displayed in other languages
    • Fixed missing tax break and units allowed for selling at the Black Market in the building Help section
    • Added the levels of unit & ship upgrades to the tooltip displayed in battle reports and in the Barracks/ Shipyard
    • Fixed Workshop not allowing upgrades for the same unit (attack & defence) to run in parallel in different towns
    • Fixed Dummy packages windows not opening


    Known issues

    • When an upgrade is already running in a different Workshop, there is a placeholder/ untranslated text displayed in languages other than English and German

    on 08.04.2025 between 10:00 and 15:35 CEST we'll be updating all live servers with version 13.0.0, also known as Infinite Horizons Milestone 2.

  • Dear players,


    a hotfix addressing the two issues that occured after the update (wine consumption on the war servers and non-retreatable fleets) is being rolled out as we speak and we estimate it will be done around 17:00 CEST today.


    :!:Additional info for the war servers: once the hotfix is rolled out and confirmed working, we will also activate a 50% wine income bonus on the war servers for 3 days, which should easily make up for lost wine and troubles.

  • Dear players,


    we are currently in the process of a sort of hotfix maintenance to address some backend issues as well as some minor fixes along the way.

    Among several backend related things players will not have noticed outside of severe edge cases (still needed fixing, as they were bad), this should also address the display mismatch concerning wine consumption and happiness.


    We apologise for not announcing this earlier, the version was approved very late yesterday. We will keep you updated about the progress. Currently we expect the maintenance to be finished around 15:00 CEST.

    on Tuesday, 29.04. around 10:00 CEST we'll be updating the PTS (lobby-test.ikariam.gameforge.com) with version 13.0.3 for further testing and evaluating changes made to Milestone 2 of Infinite Horizons.


    This will include:

    • armour and damage values of Hephaistos' Forge changed
    • buildings will receive the new max levels

    In order to help with testing, we will again provide a few goodies along the way:

    • every account on the PTS will receive 6000 Ambrosia to help speed up and evaluate/test the changes
    • every account on the PTS will receive a few unit packages to help speed up and evaluate/test the changes

    Based on the feedback gathered from this version the further schedules and changes will be decided.


    If you're not yet on the test server, we recommend giving it a try. Your feedback would be valuable to improve the version and the more feedback we get from the test server, the better the final result will be that goes live.

  • Reminder, the PTS update is today.


    Additional information/clarification:

    • changed the effect that is granted by an active Hephaistos Forge, lowered the damage and raised the defense for each level
    • new level caps for all buildings, some of them are just for Highscore points (see points below)
    • the effect of the building cost reduction buildings (Carpenter's Workshop, Wine Press, Architect's Office, Optician, and Firework Test Area) is capped at 50%
    • the effect of the resource production increase buildings (Forester's House, Winery, Stonemason, Glassblower and Alchemist's Tower) is capped at 140%
    • Palace level 21 and above doesn't raise the maximum amount of cities, the current maximum of 21 cities remains (1 Capital + 20 Colonies)
    • Palace and Governors Residence level 21 and above can counter corruption of Government Forms to get 0% Corruption even with Aristocracy or Oligarchy
    • the taxes defined by the Black Market can't go below 1%
    • the minimum training time of units at the Barracks, Shipyard and Hideout is 1 second per unit and 10 seconds per training task
    • the effect of the Sea Chart Archive is capped at 90% travel time reduction
