Gift

  • Hello everyone, especially GM and Admin,

I have been playing this game for over 12 years now, and I have a question. I want to give my gaming friend a gift by purchasing a $49.99 ambrosia package for him. I have talked to him, and he agreed. However, when I logged into his account on my laptop and entered my credit card information to pay, the game informed me that "We were unable to authorize your card." I have double-checked the card information many times and even called Chase bank (a U.S. bank). After confirming that I am the cardholder, they said they could not influence this game.

I also tried logging into the game on an iPhone, but on the phone, the game reported that the username or password was incorrect.

There is currently an event with an +80% bonus when purchasing ambrosia. Please GM and Admin, help. The bank card is mine, and I am voluntarily gifting my friend the package.

If any additional information is needed, please inbox me privately.

  • The thing that has worked the best has been PayPal.

IMO Bancard employees are idiots. The Bank's Fraud protection is probably rejecting it.

Just to keep you out of trouble, you could use the share screen (call feature) on Discord for your friend to login to your PayPal account or just send $50. That'll avoid the inevitable lecture from staff blah.. blah.

YES GF giftcards have been suggested many times. Most real companies have them.

  • Don't do it this way, you will get banned, that's what happened to me few years ago.

You opened 2 ID's from your laptop for the same server with 2 different emails while not sharing IP address. Also paying for 2 ID's from the same CC, the reason I was banned because I paid for 2 ID's in the same server and same CC.

Just avoid or find another CC.

Don't worry about this discount, you will find it every 3 weeks aprox.

  • I understand that money is a sensitive issue. Companies will minimize risks, but it would be very strange for a gaming company not to create ways to increase income (transparently, not through cheating, hacking, or stealing credits). For example, I could top up my own account and then send a code or something similar, which he could enter to receive ambrosia. As I said, the money is mine, and I want to give my friend a gift in the game. My friend cannot use his bank card in Vietnam for this purpose. That is why I decided to use my bank card in the US to pay for him. It would be much easier if I could transfer money to him and he could pay with his own account, but the problem is that bank cards in Vietnam cannot be used for transactions in this game.

Anyway, the money is mine. If Gameforge doesn't want it, then I'll simply stop gifting. The money won't go into their pockets.

And banning my account? Banning an account that has purchased a considerable amount of money and wants to top up for my friend? They must be crazy. Is this how they treat customers who put money into their pockets?

  • No matter what the purpose is, it is NOT ALLOWED to share the account credentials with other people. Plain and simple. And currently, there is no feature to buy a gift for your friend. Send him the money outside of Gameforge to let him to buy ambrosia in their game account.

Okay, okay, it's cool, man. Please help me to close this thread.

But to be honest, firstly, I understand what Gameforge is afraid of—account hacking, money hacking, and the potential troubles from lawsuits. And I also clearly stated that Vietnamese bank cards cannot be used for transactions in this game. People in other countries can do it? Congratulations, but my friend is not so lucky, unfortunately.

Secondly, if I were cheating, it's understandable for them to be worried. But if I'm actually topping up for my friend with my hard-earned money, and now you are banning that, okay, you're rich. $49.99 is nothing to you (actually, it's not a big deal for me either), but it is a meaningful gift for my friend. If you reject the money, I will support that. Simply by stopping the top-ups.

Take it easy, thank you for replying. Don't take what I said too seriously. It's just a few words exchanged, I still play this game normally, I still respect you, and I thank Gameforge for creating an interesting game.

    Respectfully

Who will be responsible if the transaction you did in your friend's account gets canceled for any reason?

  • If you have problems with the payment, please contact the support responsible for payment directly: https://ikariam.support.gameforge.com/

    Important: Select payment :)

If there are problems on the part of Gameforge, they will be able to help you. If there are problems on the part of the credit card provider, this can also be communicated to you.

Everything you can find out here in the forum is speculation at best, as we have no logs of your transaction.

As nobody here can help you :closedthread:
