Server Merge Additional Questions

First of all there are some misconceptions i would like to address:

1. I never compared all turks to any kind of animal. so all your overreacting and crying racism are just hypersensitive and stirring up needless drama.

2. I only called the behavior of setting up multi accounts to block up island spots, with sole purpose to delete town and move your raiding colony as scummy and "cockroach like" - which it is. it might be OK according to the letter of the law, but we can all agree that it is scummy behavior.

3. I play in BG server. a server which has been merged with many other communities - slovenian, serbian, slovak, bosnian and yes, even turkish.

4. The player that has been doing this is a turk. he has a turkish flag next to his account, speaks turkish and is in a turkish alliance. therefore i believe that the term i used (aka. the turk) is appropriate given the described situation.

5. Yes, i like history and often use those easter eggs in my posts (saracen, Ishmaelite...)

6. My personal opinions about the turks are not the matter of this discussion and i never mentioned them in this discussion (we could talk about them, but not here, as this is not the place). if you want to learn more ask the zaporozhian cossacks.

The whole server is annoyed with him and his turkish alliance, so a few other biggest alliances on the server are already discussing a "war" against him and members of his alliance.

Here is another topic i think we should discuss: the turkish players can buy ambrosia at a lower cost than the rest of us, since their currency the lira in, lets say it kindly, an unstable hyperinflating third world currency. From what i understand turks can buy ambrosia at a fraction of the cost when compared to the cost in euros. (if i am wrong please correct me)

10. The person doing such scummy tactics is throwing a bad light on entire community, especially on multi national servers. so if you want to be angry at anyone for defaming turkey, you should be angry at him.

I don't really have a dog in this but I did want to say this.

I don't think the multinational nature of your server is all that much different than other servers.
I play on US and most are from the US or UK but we have people with flags from all over.

actually you can play on any server you want and set the language to which ever setting you want.

I was on IT just to test out the merger cause they went ahead of us and was easily set to English although I think the barbarian village was still in Italian.
And they do or at least use to enforce message language like they do on the board here for different sections..

1. It really sounded like you did because you associated his behavior with him being Turkish and you kept bringing up his nationality. It was all irrelevant because any player could do what he did.

2. I don't even consider it scummy behavior. If the game allows it, you can do it, and any gentleman's agreements on not engaging in behavior that is explicitly allowed by the game is simply giving yourself a disadvantage.

3. People from all nationalities play on all servers.

5. While they might be historically correct, it makes you look like you're focusing on the nationality of the player and not the behavior. All of this is irrelevant compared to what he's doing and someone from the US, UK, etc. could do the same thing.

6. Again, there's no need to continually bring up a players nationality.

7. Yes, you should keep it to "why would a player do this?" and not "why would a person of X nationality do this?"

8. Drop the Turkish, it's irrelevant. Annoying players come from all nationalities and are, you guessed it, equally annoying.

9. It's irrelevant unless we're talking about PPP (purchasing power parity) which is still irrelevant and that's up to GF to enforce.

10. He's not tainting his entire community and if you're reading it that way, you're being racist. Alliance? Sure, if you've contacted them about it, but they have little reason to care.

Again, your fundamental problem is not with anything other than GF making a merge that you didn't want and/or you and your friends couldn't properly prepare for.

Which server were we talking about? Sometimes there are complaint threads on the forum saying "Payment method changed to Euro." So there are areas where we are at a disadvantage.

By the way, the reason for the exchange rate difference is that we have an economy that fluctuates with every event in the world. This is what happens when you are in a place bordering three continents.

Do they reset or you get to keep the percentages and the points you had before?

Your problem and complaint, as far as I understand, is due to the attitude of the ikariam administration in the merge and ambrosia. Then directly address the ikariam administration. Stop racist statements. There is a very easy way for this in the ikariam administration. The problem will be solved when the BG coma contacts you because of your racist statements and behaviors and permanently removes you from the game.

For all of you who say: "it doesn't matter what nationality he is, why did you bring it up?" Maybe it does not matter what nationality somebody is on your servers, where one nation is the clear majority, but on multinational servers there is quite a strong unspoken agreement, that you do not attack people of your nationality. especially since no nation has a clear majority of players and you need to stick together (each nationality represents 15% - 25%). so bulgarians don't attack bulgarians, slovenians don't attack slovenians, serbs don't attack serbs, turks don't attack turks and slovaks don't attack slovaks.

And refering to people based on their nationality is in such scenarios common, and even the norm. it is a simple way to give that primal us vs them mentality.

For all of you wandering it is not open season with all nations in constant war with one another. People still cooperate with each other, trade, sign agreements...

But there is a growing animosity towards turkish community, why? Because of the actions of 1 player. Should 1 person actions really have a negative perception on whole nation - NO. But the fact is that in the server this is the opinion of many players

The same old double-standart. One cannot easily change the ignorant perspective of a racist. You're full of hatred against Turkish players just because you cannot play the game good as them, or you cannot take the pace. It's understandable to be a loser. But it is unacceptable to be a racist just because your capacity to play the game is not enough to play this easy game.

Just filing complaints without merit to the moderators and then complaining when they don't respond is just silly. They will not ban people just because they disagree with you.

You know what you did, best thing to do right now is just shut up about this. It is not going anywhere beside more players see what you doing. Back on topic; How does popularity fare on the different servers, which is most populair overall and which least? In EN the server 2 (with marble and wood bonus) is by far the most populair. The server 1 without any bonusses is the least populair. Is this what we see also in other countries?

It's not morally wrong, you have no agency over the spot. There is no "other people's spot" or "your spot".

It's a free for all at launch and you lost the initiative due to your own lack of preparation. Blame is found in the mirror, yet I don't expect you to consider the option.

Server 1 (no bonuses) is what many in the various communities wanted (to be similar to the Alpha, Beta, Gamma (in some communizes) and Delta (again in some communities) had lost with this group of mergers.

P.S. After this merger there are no more Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon nor Zeta servers anywhere in Ikariam, gone for good, unless Ikariam starts/opens up a new community that will start off with Alpha again.

It is a general rule of the internet. Anyone can experience racism except Turks... If the same treatment were given to a German person or a Jew etc... Badidol would throw an atomic bomb on him. End of the day Orwell was right. "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal."
