Server Merge Additional Questions

  • Haha, oh boy, in 3 days we will see how it fails for the fist group so they fix it for the second, hopefully.

    Boy.....

P.S. I remember the last merge, even with shortened Mine leveling times, people LOST their donated resources, me including, because there was a time limit and the mines were...expanding too slow.

You can't lose your donated resources anymore. I've graveyarded and spent all my donated resources over a month to rebuild the mines where I'm at.

It's an inventory item with no expiration. Plus, I've already done the math and the event (32 days) is long enough to take any sawmill and luxury mine from 0 to 60.

You must be remembering wrong. First because those donated ress dont expire, even if the period of reduced expanding time ist over. And second, I had just over 2 billion wood to redonate on a single Island the last time and I managed just fine. There arent more than a handful players with even higher donation scores.

how did the war server merger go? they're using the same system this time around so I'd assume most if not all the bugs have been worked out.

Yes I agree I see no reason to have the mine upgrades longer than 60 seconds during the event.. why they would cap them at 12 hours after yanking people from developed servers is beyond me, I truly don't understand the logic on that decision.

Is that how you did that calculation?

If there was no "Merge World Festival" and 1 player had to level up the Saw Mill from zero to Level 60 on his/her island by himself/herself, how big would the "mountain" be in front of him/her?

It will need 5 Billion 299 Million 388 Thousand 126 Wood or 83 Thousand 650 Ambrosia.

It will take 9 Months 3 Days 4 Hours 23 Minutes 44 Seconds to achieve this.

  • When the merger takes place, can I move to another community or will they only appear in the community in which I have the account?

It takes Ambrosia to change communities -- You CAN NOT use Account Transfer +(1-21) during the Merge time period

  • Once it's over 12h, it's capped at 12h, and I did a calculation that showed that as long as you kept the SM/Luxury item upgrading continuously, it'd take around 24 days.

Even if you somehow miss the window, it only takes 1M 7D to get the SM to 40 and Lux to 33.

  • Someone in the alliance had a good question: what happens with freshly started piracy round?

Is is simply carried over to the post-merge with the usual end time? Or will it end early to allow a "clean" start?

It isn't carried over for sure. Cycle timing varies between servers anyway, there is no common end time.

I didn't pay attention to the pre-merge ongoing cycle with Ares, but I'd assume the round never concludes.

  • The max hours of leveling up the mills etc should be 4 hours,so we don't waste days and days until we reach our previous levels, and if we can,to surpass them with all the bonuses we will get from all the events.

Agreed, because people have other things to do and that 12 hour upgrade time might finish after they go to work so they only get one upgrade per day instead of two.

That only makes sense if someone is on an island by themselves. Don't get me wrong, I would be happier with faster recovery times to level up islands. However there will be others on their islands waiting to donate and level that mofo up.

Yes, and many players can fill an island themselves. And many players will only spread themselves across 2 islands.

I was not aware that 17+ cities was a thing yet.

I'm almost there myself: I have 15 cities on one account and 14 on another, and there are people with more.

That's not almost there. It feels like it, but its not. Palace/GR 14 is still entirely reasonable compared to the nonsense that starts at Palace 16.

  • 5300 islands but how many have wonders people want? a 3rd maybe?

even if we assume an average of 10 towns per player that's 9000 players but all the mutli's are gonna get shoved into 2 servers.

so if you thought multi's was bad before.. oh boy.. hold my beer,

Gonna be interesting for sure though... im gonna be camping the server like it's Black Friday.

That's a big driver that makes the world feels small. The solution, as I've stated in the wonder thread, is to allow the wonder to be upgraded higher. Imagine if you only needed 1 town on a forge that was upgraded sufficiently so you had 100% uptime. That makes the world feel bigger because you would no longer need 7 forge towns.

Interesting how they distribute it... Most of the "desirable" wonders are like that.. The ones that are around 18% are Hermes, Ares, Poseidon and Colossus.

It's intentional to drive scarcity. If Forge was 25% then there'd be less conflict and less competition over Forges.

It does and doesn't make sense when you consider so Ares, Hermes, and Athena are worthless and they're ~42% of the wonders.
