I went to the server with the sulfur boost. It's remarkably quiet. I think the builders went here and are just converting it with ambro.

How did you use ambro to close up your islands? Unless you made a mistake with a town warp, you don't need to spend ambro. If you warp to a 17 slot and GY, you will get another 17 slot warp.

You won't lose anything you've spent ambro on. Simply tell your alliance to go into gold mode, turn on Plutos, and GY. Some won't, but that's fine, they can be left behind and deal with the problem.

"Supposed to be" doesn't mean anything. It's up to the players to determine what the server is like. If it was supposed to be a builder server, they would've made pillages load slower, made trade ships go slower on a pillage, increased the WH protection, made the wall stronger, etc. None of those features are present. And even still, all it takes is one warlike alliance to turn it from a builder to war server.

You assumed it'd be a builder server because of more wood/marble, but that doesn't mean it would be, because as you've found out, all it takes is one alliance that wants to fight.

If the server "dies" that's because that's what that alliance wants. They want a server that is either completely subjugated to them or dead. Both are effectively the same.

What they want is for you to fight back so they can crush you. Stop giving them what they want and GY. You clearly aren't enjoying it.

A server never dies to GF either, it just becomes a merge target.

But were fighting guys with half a million gens. They could keep you locked down for months and there's nothing you can do about it.

I've already stated, multiple times in this thread, that I would not find that fun and that I would simply shrug, go into gold mode, GY, and pick a different server without a second thought.

It happened to me before the merge. Someone came to my island and started to attack my accounts. Initially, I attempted diplomacy and they weren't interested.

I thought about it, weighed my options of fighting him or GYing, and ultimately decided that even if he agreed to a truce that he'd be an unreliable island mate.

I renamed all of my towns to Polis (on my main account and my alts) and I renamed my accounts to a randomly generated alphanumeric names, so he'd have a hard time keeping everything straight.

I weighed my options and I gambled on not going into gold mode, simply because I had so much production it'd be hard for him to pillage it all off of me, especially with a brand new town.

I decided this was my Ikariam vacation and played other accounts that weren't on that server. Eventually, my accounts were graveyarded, and when I felt like it I shopped around for a new server and started playing again. To my surprise, I still had a LOT of res.

In your case, where you're actively being targeted by an alliance, the only change I'd make is go into gold mode.

I did periodically check on him and when he finally went (i) I was rather satisfied.

The LAW alliance does not give up even fighting guys with a million gen scores. I'm not gonna be run off or extorted by a bully alliance. Them asking for cash to keep from being attacked just strengthened my resolve.

They may have big gold and gens but we have the best fighters on the server.

We know when they sleep,we wave them constantly and we have 192 members.

Just watch our offence scores.

Your offensive scores are of little concern to me. You asked how I'd play the game and I answered.

In this thread, you've oscillated from how you'd beat them, to how they're ruining the server.

They are either the invincible generals ruining the server and locking you down for months or an annoying fly to swat for offensive points.

Personally, I don't see it as "giving up" but to making a collective decision to not play with them. To each their own, though.

Like the Colossus, GYing is a tool that you can exercise to get a desirable outcome. There's no shame in using either.

I and my fighters can handle these guys after fighting for many years. What I cant do is keep them from farming noobs which they are doing constantly.

No one is invincible in this game mon ami.

Especially when they sleep!

I dont like attrition battles that last for 500 rounds.

No, I get it plenty because I've seen this cycle happen on many servers before. Some will come back, some will leave the game, but that's what happens when there's a hyper aggressive alliance on a server.

What they're doing in game is perfectly legal. There's no bashing rule so they're free to hit you as many times as they can.

Also, why would I move my account there? I stated pretty clearly that if I was in your shoes, I'd just leave. I even gave you an example of how I left a similar situation before.

Please tell me what's there to get? A bunch of builders accidentally merged onto a server that has a hyper aggressive alliance on it that's pillaging everyone? Yeah, I got that; the server was never stated as "builder friendly". That's the risk that comes with a merge.

They're all going inactive? Yeah, that's expected, too. The free way to leave a server like that is to GY and they should GY if they don't like that play style.

But they aren't buying ambro?! Again, there's nothing GF can do to force people to buy ambro. GF made a calculation that the lower costs of running fewer servers and the increased competition would increase their profit margins, possibly at the expense of a small amount of revenue.

I'm really at a loss with what to tell you. One post you're like "But were fighting guys with half a million gens. Forced merges do not enforce the "Top ##" bans -- ALL players are merged.

it is the "Player Choice" merges that can not merge into a server if they are in the "Top ##"

We went from being #1 in beta to #3 on perseus. No way am i moving again after donating to everything. Time for endless waves and thats the only way your gonna beat guys with 500,000 to 1000000 point gen scores. Unfortunately the non fighters are the ones who will get pillaged. These guys only have 1 goal and thats to take down the server. Dont think I have ever been threatened and extorted before in this game like on this server.

We were given choices on which server, but were not given the choice on whether to merge or not.

This perseus server is allmost as dead as beta was.

With the consolidation this is much less true because the remaining server have a higher cutoff. It's also the top 50.

Even if you are top 50, you do get warps, so you can warp somewhere else on the map. If they keep following you and/or taking your slot 17s, they're spending ambro to chase you.

If you don't want to leave, you can simply go into wood/gold mode. Donate wood and farm gold. If there's nothing to pillage there's little reason to pillage you.

If you graveyard, you also get to donate again (your donation score is reset to 0). You don't lose your donations.

That's why I graveyarded originally. As my donations built the islands I was on, I was fine with leaving.
